Thousand Trails Scotrun Introduce
For Pennsylvania residents looking to escape into the heart of the Pocono Mountains, Thousand Trails Scotrun—often referred to locally as the Scotrun RV Resort—offers a premier destination that balances natural woodland beauty with modern resort amenities. Nestled in a lush, hilly landscape just off Route 611, this campground serves as a sanctuary for those who want to experience the "Outdoor World" without sacrificing comfort. Whether you are a local from the Lehigh Valley seeking a quick weekend retreat or a cross-state traveler exploring the scenic corridors of Northeast PA, Thousand Trails Scotrun provides a versatile basecamp for all ages. As part of a renowned network of membership campgrounds, it maintains high standards for cleanliness and community engagement, making it a staple for families who return season after season.
The atmosphere at Scotrun is characterized by its "woodsy" feel, where tall pines and deciduous trees provide ample shade and a sense of seclusion. Unlike many flat, open-field RV parks, Scotrun’s terrain is famously hilly, offering picturesque vistas and a true mountain-camping vibe. Locals often note the friendliness of the management and the "neighborly" spirit found among the seasonal residents. It is a place where you can spend your morning hiking a kid-friendly trail and your afternoon relaxing by the pool or trying your hand at mini-golf. With the 2026 season seeing continued improvements to the facilities, Thousand Trails Scotrun remains a top-tier choice for those who value both a quiet night under the stars and an active, activity-filled day.
Location is perhaps the campground's greatest asset. Situated directly on PA-611 in Scotrun, PA, the resort is incredibly easy to find and access from Interstate 80. Its central location in Monroe County puts guests less than 10 minutes away from some of the Poconos' biggest attractions, including Camelback Mountain (home to skiing and waterparks), The Crossings Premium Outlets, and the Mount Airy Casino Resort. For those looking to venture slightly further, the historic town of Jim Thorpe is a scenic 40-minute drive, offering world-class rafting and Victorian architecture. The campground itself is located within the Tannersville area, providing quick access to essential local services, grocery stores, and popular dining spots like the Barley Creek Brewing Company.
Accessibility is a key focus for the park, ensuring that all Pennsylvanians can enjoy the facilities. The resort features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a dedicated parking lot, along with accessible restroom facilities throughout the public areas. While the natural terrain of the Poconos can be steep, the main roads and sites are wide enough to navigate even the largest modern RV rigs. Visitors should be prepared for the characteristic incline near the check-in office, which local campers jokingly refer to as the "Scotrun incline," but once settled into your site, the level parking areas provide a stable base for your stay.

Choosing Thousand Trails Scotrun is worth it for Pennsylvanians who want a "best of both worlds" vacation. It offers the quiet, wooded intimacy of a traditional mountain camp, but it is situated right in the middle of the Poconos' most exciting commercial and recreational hubs. For families, the sheer volume of included amenities—like the pool, mini-golf, and organized tournaments—means you can have an entire vacation without ever leaving the property. If you do choose to explore, you are only minutes away from the state's best shopping and waterparks, making it an incredibly efficient choice for busy families.
Furthermore, the park’s commitment to a safe and professional environment makes it a standout. With a gated entrance, 24-hour security, and a strict quiet-hour policy, it is a location where you can feel comfortable letting your children bike to the playground. While the corporate phone system can sometimes be a hurdle, the local staff on the ground are consistently praised for their helpfulness and dedication to the camper experience. For those who enjoy the RV lifestyle and value a clean, accessible, and social atmosphere, Scotrun is a "must-visit" destination in the Keystone State.

Customer Reviews
One of the most friendliest staff managing this campground! The property was clean & maintained well. We enjoyed the quiet of this camp & would definitely return. Plenty to do in Poconos & Jim Thorpe is 40 min drive ~
3 stars for room, cant speak on it, can he good or bad, but 5 stars for location, they are in a great spot.1 stars for service, i tried to call there, 30minute hold time from calling the 570 area code phone number, then they offer a call back, corporate then calls me back and says they cant help me, i have to call the 570 number, its a continuous circle, you can’t wait on hold for 30 minutes, they make you get a call back.Thank god I’m not a Thousand Trails member, sounds like the brain is not talking to the hand over there at their organization
Straight out of the 70s, this is an old membership campground that really hasn’t been able to stay up to the times. Looks like most people here are seasonal. Staff was very nice but the site, was eh. There is only water and electricity but no full service. A bit pricey for what you got. There is a lake for catch a release fishing and a swimming pool area that we did not use. Location was pretty good and not too far from rather nice casino.
We had booked at a different campground and there was an issue with our reservation. We called Scotrun, and they accommodated us with a site for that day! Everyone was so kind and helpful. The campground is quiet but still has lots of fun things to do (catch and release lake, boating, gorgeous pool, huge activity room with toys for the big and little kids). A bonus was the cell service throughout the campground. Very conveniently placed. New favorite!
This Thousand Trails Campground is in a great location. Close to Indoor Waterparks with our Granddaughter. Close to casino when she's not along. Close to Outlet Stores in Tannersville. Not far off Rt 80.The employees go above and beyond to help with all your needs. The shower room is A+ , clean and great hot water.Nice place to see wildlife.Free cable TV.Only downside is they are not repairing the waterslides!
