Tuckahoe State Park Campground Eagle Loop Introduce
Tuckahoe State Park Campground, particularly the renowned Eagle Loop, offers one of the most tranquil and well-maintained outdoor experiences for residents of Maryland and the surrounding mid-Atlantic region. Nestled within the expansive 3,929-acre park that straddles the line between Caroline and Queen Anne’s Counties, this campground is a sanctuary for those looking to swap the noise of the city for the rustle of loblolly pines and the gentle flow of Tuckahoe Creek. Known for its lush, wooded canopy and spacious site layouts, Eagle Loop provides a sense of privacy and seclusion that is increasingly rare in modern state park systems.
The Eagle Loop is often the first choice for frequent visitors to the park because it offers the perfect balance of rugged nature and modern convenience. Whether you are an experienced camper with a large travel trailer or a family looking to pitch a tent for the weekend, the loop is designed to accommodate a wide variety of camping styles. The environment is clean, quiet, and professionally managed, ensuring that every guest can focus on the joy of being outdoors. From the morning call of the ospreys to the evening glow of a well-tended campfire, Tuckahoe State Park Campground provides an authentic Maryland Eastern Shore experience that brings visitors back season after season.
Located at 13283 Cherry Ln, Queen Anne, MD 21657, the campground is remarkably easy to reach for locals across the state. Situated just a short drive from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, it serves as an ideal getaway for residents of Annapolis, Baltimore, and the D.C. metropolitan area. The drive through the scenic agricultural landscapes of the Eastern Shore sets a relaxing tone even before you arrive at the park gates. Once on-site, the campground is laid out logically with easy-to-navigate roads that are accessible for larger vehicles and those towing trailers.
Accessibility is a cornerstone of the park’s design. Tuckahoe State Park ensures that all guests can enjoy the beauty of the woods by providing wheelchair-accessible entrances, dedicated accessible parking lots, and modified restroom facilities. The Eagle Loop features asphalt parking pads on its electric sites, making it much easier for those with mobility aids to navigate their campsite. Furthermore, the park's trail system includes flat, well-drained paths that are manageable for many users, ensuring that the hiking experience is inclusive for everyone from young children in strollers to seniors looking for a gentle walk through the forest.

When deciding where to spend your leisure time in Maryland, Tuckahoe State Park Campground Eagle Loop is worth choosing for several reasons. First and foremost is the quality of the campsites. Unlike many campgrounds where sites are packed closely together, Tuckahoe prioritizes the "wooded" feel, ensuring that your view is of the forest rather than your neighbor’s RV. The level of maintenance is also a major draw; the facilities are consistently reported as spotless, and the presence of attentive park staff provides a reassuring layer of security for families.
Moreover, the sheer variety of activities available within walking distance of the Eagle Loop is unparalleled. You can start your day with a hike on the Lake Trail, spend the afternoon kayaking on the flat waters of Tuckahoe Lake, and finish the evening with a round of disc golf or a picnic at the recycled tire playground. The park’s ability to cater to kids with its "kid-friendly" hikes and educational programs makes it a premier choice for birthdays and family reunions. With its affordable camping fees and the ability to pay with credit or debit cards, it is a convenient, high-value getaway that perfectly captures the serene beauty of the Maryland Eastern Shore. Whether you are seeking a peaceful retreat or an active outdoor adventure, Eagle Loop provides the ideal home base for your next Maryland excursion.

This was a beautiful wooded campground with good sized spaces, clean and well lit facilities, and easy to navigate. We were very happy with our experience camping at Tuckahoe state park campground. Each site had a dedicated fire ring with a grill attachment, a picnic table, and a post with a hook for trash. Plus it’s dog friendly, and very clean! The firewood shed is easy to access and well stocked, and park management drove by many times to check on everyone which was reassuring. Our only complaint was that we booked during a heatwave (unknowingly), so it was a bit hot! However there were plenty of trees and shade to block out most of the direct heat
Absolutely fantastic campsite. The sites are well maintained and accommodating. Each has a firepit with grill, a picnic bench, and post for hanging a lantern. The sites are spacious enough to comfortably fit a tent and car. The electric sites have reliable power. The bathrooms had two showers with plenty of hot water.
Great little state park campground with cabins, electric and non-electric campsites. Non-electric sites are for tents only. Lots of room for kids to bike, relatively clean restrooms with showers, and small in size, two loops with maybe 30 sites on each.Hiking trails lead to the river and also to the neighboring Lake Tuckahoe about a mile relatively easy hike away (my four year old did it, but don't let small kids bike it or you'll be carrying the bike like I did, 4 year old loved the hike though, be sure to go!)We pitched a tent in the electric area and even though it was completely full it was relatively quiet by 8pm in October. It was a mix of tents, pop-ups, 5th wheels, and RVs in the electric side.Book early add it fills up fast, you won't regret it and make wonderful family memories you and your children will cherish for years to come.
Came back after ten years and wish we hadn't waited so long. Wonderful park. Great camping, terrific hiking, clean and well maintained.
Great little camping area with beautiful grounds, semi secluded wooded sites, and very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful upon checking in. The fill/dump station is conveniently located right to the left when you come in (no full hookups here). The bath house was clean and easily accessible as it is in the middle of the loop. There is a disc golf course, a picnic pavilion, two kids play areas (the picture below is the one at the lake), and great hiking trails. Some caveats:1. Almost no cell service. This was a non factor for me, this is why I camp, to get away from those things. Something to consider if you work on the road or need to answer emails.2. The bugs were in full force, please bring bug spray and light those citronella candles! I got bit on both feet pretty good, spending my next two days in severe itch mode!3. If you have to travel for some items the Denton Walmart is about 15 minutes away. There is also a Dollar General in Ridgely.4. Bring your bikes! Lots of space to ride around, especially for the kids.
