Hyde Park Introduce
For many residents of Maryland, the Eastern Shore represents a lifestyle defined by serenity, scenic beauty, and a slower pace of life. Hyde Park, located in the historic town of Easton, is a standout residential community designed specifically for active adults aged 55 and over. Often recognized as one of the most well-maintained and attractive communities in Talbot County, Hyde Park offers a unique blend of affordability and luxury. As a Sun Communities property, it caters to those who want to enjoy their retirement years in a peaceful setting without sacrificing modern conveniences or social engagement. The community is widely praised by locals and real estate professionals alike for its meticulous upkeep and the high quality of its amenities.
The philosophy at Hyde Park centers on providing a maintenance-free lifestyle that allows seniors to focus on what truly matters: family, hobbies, and community. Unlike traditional neighborhoods, this land-lease community ensures that common areas, roads, and shared facilities are professionally managed, relieving residents of the typical burdens of property maintenance. For Marylanders looking to downsize from larger family homes, Hyde Park offers beautifully crafted manufactured homes with open floor plans and modern features. The atmosphere is one of mutual respect and friendliness, where the vast majority of neighbors are known for being welcoming and the management team is highly responsive to the needs of the residents.
Location and accessibility are primary draws for this Easton community. Situated at 9618 Cordova Road, Hyde Park is perfectly positioned just off Route 50, providing easy access to the metropolitan hubs of Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington D.C. Locally, the park is just minutes away from downtown Easton, a town celebrated for its boutique shops, gourmet dining, and vibrant arts scene. For medical needs, the community is conveniently close to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center. Accessibility is a key priority throughout the grounds; the community features wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking lots, and many individual homes include handicap-accessible ramps and thoughtful interior designs to ensure comfort for all residents.
The services offered at Hyde Park are comprehensive and designed to support a seamless living experience. A significant benefit of residency is the consolidated monthly ground rent, which typically covers essential services that would otherwise be separate bills. This predictable cost structure is highly valued by seniors on fixed incomes. The on-site management team, led by experienced professionals, ensures that the community remains safe, clean, and organized. From snow removal on paved streets to professional landscaping of common grounds, the service level at Hyde Park is intended to make every resident feel like they are living in a resort-style environment year-round.

Customer Reviews
I’m a real estate agent in MD and I stopped by the Hyde Park office to get information for a client. Both gentlemen, Brett and the manager, Jesse, were very helpful. They gave me all the amenity information and invited me to ride through the park. I must say this is one of the nicest communities I’ve seen on the Eastern Shore. Their amenities are amazing and the community is very well maintained. Great place!
I have lived here 5 years and am still happy with my decision. Sometimes things don't get done to everyone's liking, but you can't please all the people all the time. It's still a swell place for seniors to live and the vast majority of my neighbors are very nice.
This place is deceitful and money hungry! Buyer beware, they will try to screw your loved ones out of any money they can if you pass away. They ignore phone calls and emails. We paid our deceased loved one’s ground rent in the beginning of November. On the 7th we settled on the property. Notified them immediately that the house had sold. They didn’t get the new owners to sign their lease until the middle of December. They will not reimburse the portion of the ground rent for November after we settled because the new owner did sign lease till December so they told us we were responsible for all of November and we were lucky they back dated the new owner’s lease to December 1st or we would have had to pay the ground rent for December as well. Corporate told me I would have to get the new owners to pay us back. Before making November’s payment, I called the office and was reassured that we would be reimbursed for the portion of time we no longer owned the house. I have even supplied them with the settlement sheets. They were made aware there was new ownership and didn’t do their jobs, so now we are out of the money owed to us. So if you sell a house there, the new owners could move in, not sign a lease, and live there rent free while the company makes you pay the ground rent. Very shady company practices!
This waa my first visit to the Hyde Park Community Center. The park itself appeared to be more of a retirement community but was well maintained and organized. The community center was accommodating for our event with approximately 80 guests. Very spacious.
Nice large community for adults over 55 years old. I would love to live here one day. My dad and older sister live here. So quite and always looks neat and well maintained.
