Woodland Campground Introduce

For Pennsylvania residents looking to trade the noise of the turnpike for the rustle of the forest, Woodland Campground serves as a premier destination in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds. This family-owned and operated facility offers a peaceful sanctuary where the beauty of Clearfield County takes center stage. Whether you are a local from Central PA seeking a quick weekend retreat or a traveler navigating the cross-state corridors, Woodland Campground provides a welcoming atmosphere that balances rustic outdoor charm with the essential comforts required for a modern camping trip. Known for its meticulously maintained grounds and exceptionally friendly staff, it has become a staple for those who appreciate a quiet, park-like setting.

The campground is designed to cater to a wide demographic, from solo hikers and retirees in large motorhomes to young families introducing their children to the joys of the great outdoors. The environment at Woodland is specifically curated to be serene; while it provides plenty of activities to keep guests engaged, it avoids the frantic pace of larger commercial "resort" camps. This focus on tranquility makes it a favorite for Pennsylvanians who want to enjoy a morning of catch-and-release fishing on the on-site lake or a reflective afternoon walk through the wooded trails. The sense of community here is palpable, with many guests noting that the owners and staff treat every visitor like a neighbor rather than just another reservation number.

Location and accessibility are among the most significant advantages of Woodland Campground. Situated at 314 Egypt Rd, Woodland, PA 16881, the park is incredibly easy to reach for anyone traveling through the region. It is located just about one mile north of Interstate 80 at Exit 123, making it a perfect "hitch-up and head out" spot for residents of nearby State College, DuBois, or Altoona. Despite its proximity to a major interstate, the geography of the site ensures that highway noise is replaced by the sounds of nature, offering a secluded feel without the stress of navigating difficult backroads. The entrance is well-marked with a large blue and white sign, and the facility features inclusive design elements such as a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restrooms to ensure all guests can enjoy the park comfortably.

For those arriving with large rigs, the accessibility continues within the park itself. The campground is known for its spacious, level gravel sites and easy-access pull-thrus that can accommodate the largest RVs on the market today. This ease of navigation is a major draw for Pennsylvania RVers who want a stress-free arrival. Once settled, guests are only a short drive away from local conveniences and major regional attractions like the Elk County Visitor Center and the scenic West Branch of the Susquehanna River. The facility provides free on-site parking for guests, ensuring that even those with extra vehicles or trailers have ample space to park securely during their stay.

Woodland Campground offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to provide a turnkey camping experience. From technical RV support to everyday conveniences, the onsite services ensure that guests have everything they need without having to leave the property. The management accepts multiple forms of payment, including credit and debit cards, and provides a streamlined check-in process that includes after-hours options for late arrivals. Professionalism and helpfulness are the cornerstones of their service model, as evidenced by the high praise from guests who have received assistance with everything from rig repairs to local travel advice.

  • Full RV hookup services including electric (30/50 amp), sewer, and water connections to support all types of modern motorhomes and trailers.
  • Clean and modern onsite facilities including a laundromat and well-maintained public restrooms and showers.
  • A fully stocked camp store and gift shop providing essentials, propane, and high-quality firewood for evening campfires.
  • Free Wi-Fi access throughout the park, allowing guests to stay connected while enjoying the secluded woodland setting.
  • Dedicated onsite services and support from owners who reside on the property, ensuring attentive care 24/7.
  • Availability of cozy family cabin rentals and primitive tent sites for those who prefer a different style of lodging.
  • Rental options for watercraft such as kayaks and rowboats to enjoy the serene three-acre fishing lake.
  • A beautiful three-acre fishing lake (Lake Genee) stocked with bass, catfish, perch, and bluegill for catch-and-release fun.
  • Miles of private hiking and mountain biking trails that wind through the woods and along the creek bed.
  • A safe and modern playground and a jump pad specifically designed for younger campers to burn off energy.
  • An off-leash dog park and designated "dog walk" areas, making it one of the most pet-friendly destinations in the region.
  • A fully equipped game room featuring arcade games, a pool table, and a jukebox for indoor entertainment.
  • Spacious picnic areas with fire rings and high-quality picnic tables provided at every site for outdoor dining.
  • Planned activities and social events, such as ice cream socials and non-denominational church services, during the peak season.
  • A new gem mine on the property, offering an educational and fun experience for children to discover local stones.

When considering the many camping options in Pennsylvania, Woodland Campground is worth choosing because it masterfully combines convenience with true natural immersion. In many campgrounds, you have to choose between being close to the highway or being deep in the woods—here, you get both. The facility is a "one-stop shop" for relaxation; you can fish, hike, and play without ever leaving the 314 Egypt Road property. For families, it is worth choosing for the safety and the variety of kid-focused amenities like the playground and the gem mine, which keep children engaged in a healthy, outdoor environment.

Furthermore, the "human element" makes this campground worth choosing. The owners, Mike and Lisa, are frequently cited by visitors for their kindness and their personal investment in the guest experience. Whether they are escorting you to your site or providing a military discount to those who serve, their hospitality creates a "home away from home" vibe that is rare in larger, corporate-run parks. For dog owners, the inclusion of fenced, off-leash areas and pet-friendly trails makes it a standout choice where your furry friends are treated as guests of honor rather than an afterthought. Choosing Woodland Campground means choosing a clean, safe, and heart-centered Pennsylvania experience that will likely become a yearly tradition for your family.

Everyone is very friendly and you feel as though they're all invested in making the campground as good as it can be. Very attractive and well-stocked fishing pond and very well-maintained campground. Great location just off the I-80.

Been going to this CG for years. New owners this year. Was really surprised to see an extra "charge" if you check in early. A per diem extra "charge" if you have a dog. A extra "charge" for calling & making a reservation. Staff, when they were in the office, were excellent. Store is adequate. Rest rooms are clean. Grounds are well maintained. Some sites are nice, but most are tight & are " buddy" sites. Not all Will accommodate a big rig. Will probably stay there again only because easy access to I-80 & close promixty to some of our favorite breweries.

We were able to reserve a tent spot late in the day for a one night stop. And I’ll tell you what, this place is absolutely perfect for camping with kids or dogs. We plan to bring our dog with us next time, as we plan to come back again!

Easy off easy on to i-80. We ate at farm table which is nearby. We went kayaking in a reservoir and river which is also nearby. These things were explained to us by the front desk when we checked in. Which was wonderful. Like other reviews quiet level spots. We will definitely be back the next time we pass through. Thank you for everything.
