While the area is nice we did not like the lack of privacy. We constantly had other camper cutting across our sight with no regard for our space. Rules they say they have are not enforced. The rules say no mats down on the sight to protect the grass. We unknowingly parked over the dirt part thinking that was where the camper went which put us 15 feet away from septic and water hookup. Soon we discovered that no one follows that rule and in fact the dirt was where others had placed their mats. The price to stay was good. We just prefer more privacy which there is not a lot of.
Very clean and spacious campground on the river! Tucked away from the road, it’s very quiet. Facilities were really tidy. The trails across the bridge were nice for a hike without having to leave the campground.
Very nice RV park. Super easy sites to get in and out of. Wide open spaces and great things to do for the kids. Hiking, playground, pool and a river to float down give endless hours of fun in the sun.Update 6/28/2025: Second year coming here. Extremely relaxing, able to disconnect from the world and still has tons to do. Will most definitely be coming back year over year. Love this place!!!
Abel Mountain Campground was a great stop for us. The most impressive was the cleanliness of the bathrooms. They must clean them throughout the day as they were spotless. The tent site was nice, on plush grass and the electricity was great to charge our phones for the next day. The staff was very friendly. On Saturday night they had a band play down at the gathering spot and it was great! They gave rides to families/kids on their tractor, which was pulling a hay ride behind it. All in all a great time!
Great RV park. Sites are more spacious than other RV parks we've been to. Beautiful foliage views in October and we enjoyed our site right on the river. Quick ten minute drive to grocery store (Shaw's) and some nice local restaurants even closer.*Edited 7/2024: we went back to camp here for a few nights & it was beautiful. I highly recommend site 52 or 53. There's a stairway that leads right down to the river. We spent literally hours walking the river and relaxing on the little islands. The water was crystal clear. It was so private and peaceful and we will definitely be coming back here yearly.
