Beachcomber Camping Resort Introduce
For New Jersey residents seeking a premier outdoor escape, Beachcomber Camping Resort stands as a shining example of the "destination campground" concept. Spanning 100 wooded acres in the heart of Cape May County, this independent, family-owned resort has been a staple of the Jersey Shore camping scene since 1975. Designed to offer much more than just a place to pitch a tent, Beachcomber provides an all-encompassing vacation experience that blends the rustic charm of nature with the high-end amenities of a modern resort. From the moment you pass through the gated entrance, you are greeted by a meticulously maintained environment where families return year after year to create lasting memories under the canopy of towering trees.
The resort is particularly well-regarded for its vibrant atmosphere and its ability to cater to every style of camper. Whether you are arriving with a high-end Class A motorhome, looking for a cozy cabin, or venturing out for a traditional tenting experience, the park’s layout and professional staff ensure a seamless stay. For local users, Beachcomber is a "home away from home" that captures the quintessential spirit of the Cape May peninsula—relaxed, friendly, and deeply rooted in community. The park’s commitment to safety and cleanliness, coupled with an exhaustive schedule of themed weekends and events, makes it a top-tier choice for those who want the freedom of the outdoors without sacrificing comfort.
Location is one of Beachcomber's strongest assets. Situated at 462 Seashore Road in Cape May, New Jersey, the resort is perfectly positioned halfway between the historic Victorian streets of Cape May and the world-famous boardwalk of Wildwood. For New Jersey locals, this means you are only a 10 to 15-minute drive from some of the best beaches, shopping, and dining the state has to offer. Its proximity to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry also makes it a convenient stop for those traveling across the bay. Accessibility is a priority at the resort, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, dedicated parking lots, and accessible restroom facilities to ensure that the beauty of the resort can be enjoyed by all visitors.
Navigating the resort is made easy by wide, well-maintained roads designed to accommodate "Big Rigs" up to 48 feet. For those who want to leave the car behind, the resort offers golf cart rentals, which are a popular way for families to cruise between the lakes, pools, and activity pavilions. The park is also directly connected to the Cape May Bike Path, providing a safe and scenic 2.5-mile route for cyclists and walkers to explore the local area. This level of accessibility ensures that whether you are exploring the 100-acre property or venturing out to the Wildwood "Two Miles of Smiles" boardwalk, your logistical needs are well-covered.

Not quite sure how to rate a camp ground for rooms we stayed in our travel trailer (basically our home away from home). Staff was very friendly. There were a lot of events going on when we went down, so it was quite enjoyable. The camp ground was clean and very well maintained. Could not have asked for more. We will definitely be going back..
My son's Boy Scout troop stayed here for a weekend campout. The camp grounds were a great choice with tons of amenities. They had everything from swimming and fishing, to hiking and other festivities that were going on for the weekend. We had two tent sites that were plenty big to accommodate the troop plus the two vehicles that we lugged everything down in. The place was very peaceful with lots to do. And, it's only a 15 minute ride to the Wildwood boardwalk if you want to do that. We would definitely look to stay here again in the future.
We rent the RV sites, and they offer options from basic to fully equipped with electric and sewage. It's close to Cape May beach and a short distance to Wildwood boardwalk. The bathhouses are clean and plenty located throughout the campground. They have amenities like a beach, a few pools, and even an adult pool for some relaxing without all the noise and splashing. Weekly activities are also offered for entertainment while you stay. We have been going here for years and still very much enjoy all this place has to offer!
FROM FAMILY MEMORIES TO HOSTILE THREATSI’M NOT SURPRISED TO SEE OTHERS HAD THE SAME HORRIBLE EXPERIENCEWe’ve been bringing our RV here for 20 YEARS, and it used to be wonderful. But now? Completely different place. The staff treat you like a problem the second you ask for anything. Something as innocent as arranging for our driver to collect luggage turned into a full confrontation. They gave us a tiny time-limited pass, then acted OUTRAGED when it wasn’t to the second. Security was AGGRESSIVE, threatening POLICE instead of helping. What was once a family tradition has turned into a place we will NEVER RETURN to.
Nice campground but unfortunately aggressive towards EV owners.I’ve stayed here for roughly a month total in the last year or so and was warned early on that they believe charging EVs (even just trickle charging from 15 amp receptacles) will damage their electrical system. While this is an obviousfallacy especially for overnight charging when electrical demand is lower. It seemed the campground was attempting to be accommodating by installing an EV charger at the gate and more recently another at the main pool. This is apparently more of a price gouging move than a genuine attempt at supporting EV owners. The rate they charge is more than triple the prevailing electricity rate. It’s even more expensive than the Superchargers a mile or so away at the courthouse. The reason I use the word aggressive to describe this EV politics is because despite not having a single mention of it in their extensive rules they diligently police the property to the point of entering peoples sites to check if EVs are plugged in then taking pictures of them, to come back and confront you later about it. When I’m spending thousands of dollars to stay at a campground on vacation I don’t appreciate being lectured over a few bucks worth of electricity nor having my site entered and my privacy invaded to check enforcement of a rule that isn’t even listed as a rule except possibly under the section that says they can add more rules at anytime. (Yes they literally have a rule that says that.)The campground facilities are generally nice but there’s a lot of nice campgrounds in the area especially at this premium price point. If your an EV owner feel free to enjoy the site just be aware of the aggressive policies and privacy invasion that will come with staying at this location. Campgrounds understandably need to pick their battles and apparently this one has chosen to fight against EVs, police their charging and gouge them on electricity rates.
