What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Bethpage Camp-Resort is an investment in a high-energy, amenity-rich vacation that traditional campgrounds simply cannot match. If you are a family with children, the water park and "Cowtopia" miniature golf course make this resort an easy choice; the sheer volume of activities ensures that kids are entertained from dawn until dusk. For RVers who prefer "glamping" over rustic camping, the big-rig friendly pull-through sites provide the space and infrastructure needed for a stress-free setup. The inclusion of on-site RV repair services is a unique and highly valuable benefit that provides an extra layer of security for long-term travelers.
Furthermore, the resort’s seasonal site model is worth choosing for those looking to establish a semi-permanent summer home in Virginia’s River Realm. The community of seasonal residents is tight-knit and dedicated to the resort’s culture, often decorating their sites and participating in the many themed events. For those who enjoy a lively, social environment where the music is playing and the golf carts are buzzing, Bethpage is the gold standard. It’s a place where the focus is on fun, community, and the timeless appeal of the Chesapeake Bay, making it one of the most sought-after camping destinations in the state of Virginia.

Customer Reviews
Every year we stop in Maryland or Virginia on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, but this was our first stop at Bethpage Camp-Resort - WOW.From the moment you roll through the gates, it’s clear this is more than a campground—it’s a full-blown vacation experience. The sprawling water park splashes to your right, a serene freshwater lake and sandy beach stretch to your left, and the warm welcome from the staff sets the tone for your stay.We were there for two weeks in October, and though it was "off-season" and the pool was closed, there were still lots of activities and plenty to do in the area. They had Halloween-themed activities both weekends we were there, and the seasonal site residents went ALL OUT with their decorations (see photos). At this RV Resort, you can choose your adventure: take a dip in the pools, paddle out on the lake, challenge your family to a game of volleyball or cornhole, or join a fishing charter or yoga session. Evenings bring movie nights, live entertainment, and themed events that bring campers together under the stars. They have a Poolside Café and Beach House Grill open for limited hours off-season, and Bethpage Miniature Golf & Ice Creamery greets you at the entrance that includes 20 ice cream flavors.Bethpage blends resort-style amenities with that welcoming community feel that RV travelers love. Whether you’re a couple chasing sunshine, a family making summer memories, or a full-time RVer seeking a seasonal spot by the bay, this destination delivers.Things to note: its probably a little different during the summer, but in the off-season, the seasonal residents all hang out together - and while friendly, no one really reached out to make us feel welcome or invited us to a campfire. The reviews you see here regarding kids flying around on scooters and bikes sync with our experience, as did drunken adults (and teens) rolling around in golf carts. That said, we did not see a problem with any of that in general. This is a vacation spot - a place to relax and unwind and have fun - and the people here are definitely having fun.If you’re planning a Chesapeake Bay road trip or looking for the best Virginia RV resorts - but not looking for a peaceful retreat but rather a fun party - Bethpage Camp-Resort deserves a top spot on your list.
We stay every year for the Oyster Festival (13 yr to date) and sometimes in between. The ladies at the registration desk are always very nice and accommodating office, the grounds nicely landscaped and the grounds crew helpful. The sites are big rig friendly. During the Fest the campground has vendors on Saturday and live music during the evening in the common area field. The onsite hay wagon rides to/from the town of Urbanna is wonderful during the Fest. An added plus and relief for us is the on site RV mobile repair company (A.Pace). We’ve had to use the service a couple of times for unexpected emergencies. The campers at Bethpage always friendly. Gave yet to see any problems. A great place for families and couples to stay when visiting the area.
I have absolutely loved my trips here. Although my favorite employees who were ALWAYS welcoming and absolutely all around just amazing and actually became my best friend. This place is extremely Family friendly. Yes this Camp Resort has just about every amenity that you could imagine which is what draws a person and their families here, but ultimately it’s the employees that make this place worth the trip to continue coming back year after year. I har a unique experience of seeing not just how they look out for eachother but the visitors as well.
Loved our stay here. The campground was huge, and very clean. The staff was nice. There were 15 of us in 2 cabins and 3 campers. Mini golf was fun, though some holes needed to be cleaned off a little. Waterpark was clean and very safe for our kids. We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next stay with them.
If you're looking for a luxury resort experience, keep looking — unless your definition of "resort" is a gravel lot, no pool, no gym, and a snack shop that guards its granola bars like they're bars of gold.Let’s break this down:No pool (at least not open!)No fitness centerNo mini golf unless you pay $10 unlike any other thousand trailsNo amenities beyond a bathroom and regretThey call themselves a resort, but I’ve seen gas stations with better recreational options. If you’re into lifting disappointment and running from customer service, though — hey, great workout. But the real kicker? They recommended a local restaurant that should honestly come with a trigger warning. The restaurant got our order wrong four times, forgot items entirely, and when we finally (politely!) said, “We’d like to leave and not pay for what we didn’t get,” they threatened to call the cops. AND DID. It was like being on a hidden camera show, minus the camera, humor, or resolution. So I called the campground to let them know the “resort experience” they sent us into had gone off the rails. I spoke to the assistant manager, John, who could not have been less interested. I’m 34 weeks pregnant, uncomfortable, and hungry — I asked if he could at least offer some snacks from the camp store as a courtesy. He said no.Seriously — imagine telling a very pregnant woman who’s just been foodless-ly ejected from a police-involved dinner incident, “Nah, can’t help you. Not my problem.”This place isn't a resort. It's a parking lot with a brochure and a lot of audacity. If you’re craving peace, hospitality, and maybe a granola bar in a time of need — try literally anywhere else.
