What is worth choosing at Cheerful Valley Campground is the unique balance between a quiet, secluded retreat and a vibrant community atmosphere. Unlike some larger, more commercialized "resort" campgrounds, Cheerful Valley maintains a genuine, rustic charm that feels like a true New York outdoors experience. The grass-covered sites offer more space and privacy than typical gravel-lot parks, allowing you to set up a comfortable camp where you can truly relax by the fire.

Furthermore, the value for families is exceptional. With activities like the jump pad, swimming pool, and fire truck rides included in the site fee, it provides an affordable way to create lasting memories. For the adults, the proximity to the Seneca Lake wine trail means you can enjoy a day of tasting award-winning Rieslings and returns to the quiet of the river valley by evening. It is a place where "quiet hours" are respected, management is present, and the natural beauty of the Finger Lakes is always the main attraction. Whether you are stopping for a night or staying for a season, Cheerful Valley Campground represents the best of Upstate New York hospitality.

I’ve been here for two weeks during a busy holiday weekend Fourth of July I’m very picky and straight to the point. My overall experience Was Great my only real complaint is the bathrooms. They were extremely clean and sanitized, but the showers themselves are outdated and very difficult to use after a little figure things out we may do with what we have. I will definitely be back for another camping trip. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5 The staff for the most part, we’re good one staff you can tell was overwhelmed with workload and was kind of blow off Ish, but I understand it was a busy weekend and they have a lot to do

No doors on showers just shower curtains. I prefer be able to latch a door while I’m showering. Parents behind us allowed 4 preschool aged children to scream and have multiple temper tantrums while running and playing at 7 am until they left at 9 am with no effort by parents or camp authorities to curb it. Other campers two tiers higher and farther away yelling down to shut it down and no result. We won’t be back.

Good size campground. We were here on a holiday weekend, and the place was packed. Lots of planned activities for kids. We were in the back row so we had more room, backed up to the woods.

I tent camped here one night last week and thought it was just wonderful. The campground staff were very friendly and welcoming and the tent camping area was secluded, nicely maintained, and beautifully quiet. The pool is currently being refurbished and there was some maintenance being done with pressure washers, but all that activity quieted down in the evening. The warm water showers were a definite plus.

Really nice basic campground. Excellent location alongside a very peaceful meandering riverbank with lots of opportunities for fishing. Nice open level Safari field with plenty of pull through. Not a ton of amenities, but that’s fine with me. This is also one of the most quiet campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at on the weekend.will definitely be back
