What is worth choosing at Gettysburg Campground? For many, the highlight is the creek-side tent sites. These spots offer a serene environment where the sound of running water provides a natural soundtrack for your evening campfire. Visitors often rave about the cleanliness of the facilities and the helpfulness of the staff, such as Lauren, who has been noted by guests for going above and beyond to deliver firewood and assist with setup. The campground is also an excellent choice for those who want a family-centered atmosphere where kids can safely roam the playground and participate in weekend events like hayrides or crafts.

While the campground is highly rated, it is worth noting that it can become quite busy during peak holiday weekends and reenactment events. During these times, the "buddy-style" hookups for RVs mean you will be close to your neighbors, which many find contributes to a friendly, communal vibe. However, if you prefer a quieter experience, visiting during the mid-week or in the shoulder seasons like October can provide a more peaceful retreat, complete with beautiful fall foliage. Ultimately, Gettysburg Campground is worth choosing because it provides a reliable, clean, and feature-rich environment that allows you to enjoy the best of Pennsylvania’s outdoors while remaining connected to the historical significance of the area.

Whether you are looking for a weekend of fishing and swimming or a week-long immersion into Civil War history, this campground provides the infrastructure and the atmosphere to make it happen. With its unique on-site services, diverse site options, and proximity to major PA attractions, it remains one of the most practical and enjoyable choices for camping in the Gettysburg region.

We stayed for two nights, October 11th and 12th as a quick trip just to try out our new tent. The campground was beautiful! The tent spots are right by the creek, which we LOVED! Very clean and well maintained, including the porta potties (extremely rare, LOL). The camp store, office, and shower/bathroom facilities were also very clean and well stocked. I wish we were staying longer so we could have participated in some of the activities they offered but next time for sure! Lauren greeted us at our site as we were setting up and he was SOOO helpful and kind! We loved that he delivered firewood right to the tent since we had our card on file. Great service!!! I wish he would have accepted a tip because he deserved it for going above and beyond! Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for beautiful scenery and a fun atmosphere. We can't wait for the next trip!

The campground is nice. They had a Reinactment the weekend were there. Pretty cool. The real bathrooms were very well maintained and clean. The porta potties , I refused to even walk into. They were worse than a state fair at the end of the two weeks. The staff came around and threw toilet paper in possibly but since it was so disgusting I wouldn't know. If I go back to Gettysburg and I hope you to, I will definitely try a different location. Disappointed in staff interactions also.

This campground is very nice. It was also busy, so that told me that people really like it. The sites were spacious enough, and there's plenty of room to walk around there. There's a lot of activities there for kids, including a little putt putt course and hayrides, but it was a fairly quiet park. It backed up to a really nice creek. The people in the office were very nice. It might be nice to have somebody guide you to your site, as the park layout is a little confusing at first. They had some kind of a food truck on the property, and we got the biggest cookies I think I've ever had! They were fantastic! The battlefield in the area is a definite must do.

Nov 7-9, 2025 was our first visit to Gettysburg Campground. I chose it due to the location, creekside campsites and the fact it was smaller and seemed more inviting than others in the area. The people were amazing. The grounds were clean and plenty to do. They even had vendor trucks and wineries for campers to visit. We will definitely be returning. We plan to make at least 2 annual trips one summer and one fall trip.We love Gettysburg and have been coming for many years, previously staying at family property. Now we can call this one of our new home away from home spots!

Do not stay here!!!!!! The campers were loud until 11pm, but some people were still loudly laughing, probably drunk, on and off until 2am. I asked Gary , the owner, to refund our previous night and the night we had not used yet, and he refused. He said he did not receive complaints from other campers. Okay, most people don’t bother calling in to complain, they just move on. I will tell all my RV friends not to stay at this campground; there are too many other options! The spots super close together - squeezed in!!! We stayed at the KOA about one mile away. It was quiet, clean and lovely! Also a lot cheaper!Gary, maybe in time, you will learn to serve your customers better!
