Gildersleeve Park for Mobile Homes (office) Introduce
For New Yorkers navigating the high cost of living on Long Island, Gildersleeve Park for Mobile Homes represents a significant and well-established alternative for affordable housing. Located in the historic village of Amityville, this community has served local residents for over 70 years, making it the oldest mobile home park still in operation on Long Island. As a second-generation family-owned and operated estate, Gildersleeve Park provides a sense of continuity and stability that is often missing from larger corporate-run housing developments. It is an owner-occupied community, meaning residents purchase their individual homes and lease the land, fostering a neighborhood where people have a personal stake in the upkeep and quality of their surroundings.
The atmosphere at Gildersleeve Park is frequently described by local users as exceptionally quiet and clean. In a region where noise and congestion can be common, this park stands out as a sanctuary of peace, making it a popular choice for retirees and families alike. The management emphasizes a "neighbor-first" philosophy, where rules are implemented specifically to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of all residents. From the perspective of a local user, this is a place where you can sleep soundly at any hour and know that your neighbors are friendly, respectful individuals who value the same community standards that you do.
Location and accessibility are among the park's most practical advantages. Situated at 660 Broadway in Amityville, New York, the park sits strategically on the border of Nassau and Suffolk Counties. This location offers the best of both worlds: the suburban charm of Suffolk with the close proximity to Nassau’s commercial hubs. The community is easily accessible via the Southern State Parkway and Sunrise Highway, providing a straightforward commute for those working in the city or elsewhere on the island. Furthermore, the park is well-served by public transit and is located near various shopping centers, medical facilities, and the vibrant downtown area of Amityville Village, which is known for its local restaurants and small-town feel.
Gildersleeve Park for Mobile Homes offers a comprehensive suite of services that are included in the monthly lot rent, ensuring that residents can enjoy a maintenance-free lifestyle. The services offered include:
- Professional snow removal for all community streets and designated parking areas.
- Comprehensive garbage and large item disposal assistance, including specialized pick-ups.

- Regular maintenance of common grounds to ensure a tidy and attractive streetscape.
- On-site management office dedicated to resident inquiries and administrative support.
The park is designed with a variety of features that contribute to a high quality of life and a secure living environment. These highlights are tailored to meet the needs of a diverse resident base, from young families to those looking for a manageable retirement home. The features and highlights include:

What is worth choosing when it comes to Gildersleeve Park? For many New Yorkers, the decision is driven by the unparalleled value and peace of mind. Choosing this community means opting for a lifestyle where your monthly expenses are predictable and manageable—typically around $1,000 for lot rent, which includes essential services like water, sewer, and taxes. This is a far cry from the skyrocketing rents found in traditional apartment complexes across Long Island. It is especially worth choosing for those who want the privacy of a detached home without the overwhelming maintenance responsibilities of a traditional stick-built house.
Additionally, the park is worth choosing because of its "safe and clean" reputation. Local residents frequently praise the owner for being respectable and hands-on, ensuring that the park remains a five-star environment. Whether it is the prompt snow removal during a New York winter or the assistance with disposing of old appliances, the management goes above and beyond to support the residents. For anyone looking for an affordable, quiet, and friendly place to call home in Suffolk County, Gildersleeve Park for Mobile Homes offers a factual, high-quality solution that has stood the test of time.
Ultimately, Gildersleeve Park represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of Long Island at a fraction of the cost of traditional real estate. If you are ready to trade the stress of high-density living for a quiet, tree-lined community with a rich local history, this park is certainly worth your consideration.

Nice and clean overall, quiet and people I've met there were friendly. If your thinking of buying a place thats affordable to retire, you might want to check this place out. Once you purchase a trailer home here the lot rent is around 1000 a month
This is probably the nicest trailer park you can find family oriented no one bothers anyone there’s plenty of parking the owner I personally know for years is a really good man very respectable of course there’s rules That’s why this park is safe and clean they do the snow removal it will help you take out large garbage like they did for me when I got rid of my refrigerator I rate this park five stars And it’s also very quiet you could sleep here all hours of the day
Not very helpful in the main office at all . They act like they don't need anyone's money or business. No call backs when they said they would either way. So that's why I had to go in there .
Nice friendly mobile home park. Close to everything
