Green Holly Campground Introduce

For families in New Jersey seeking a consistent summer retreat, Green Holly Campground in Cape May Court House represents a classic slice of the Jersey Shore camping tradition. Spanning approximately 56 to 72 acres of lush, wooded landscape, this facility is designed primarily as a seasonal haven for RV enthusiasts. It offers a sense of stability and community that is often missing from transient hotel stays, allowing guests to establish deep roots in the Southern Shore region. As a gated summer community, it prioritizes a secure and quiet environment where the primary focus is on relaxation and outdoor family bonding.

The campground’s atmosphere is defined by its maturity; the abundance of tall trees provides significant shade and privacy for the 456 individual sites. This is a "back-to-basics" professional operation that leans into the peacefulness of the forest while remaining just a short drive from the high-energy boardwalks and Atlantic beaches. For local residents, Green Holly serves as a more affordable second home, where the summer is measured in campfires, pool days, and weekend activities rather than the rush of tourist traffic.

Location and accessibility are two of the most practical reasons New Jerseyans choose Green Holly. The campground is situated at 335 Swainton Goshen Road, strategically placed between the coastal wetlands and the primary beach access points of Cape May County. It is exceptionally easy to reach for travelers coming from the north via the Garden State Parkway; taking Exit 13 leads directly to Route 9, where a quick turn onto Goshen-Swainton Road brings you to the campground entrance in minutes. This prime location places guests approximately 10 to 15 miles from the premier beaches of Avalon, Stone Harbor, and Wildwood.

Beyond its road accessibility, the site is designed with inclusivity in mind. The entrance, parking lots, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible, ensuring that all family members can navigate the grounds comfortably. Its proximity to local landmarks like the Cape May County Park & Zoo—a favorite for budget-conscious families—and the various historic sites in Cape May makes it an ideal central hub for exploring the entire peninsula. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and local diners in Cape May Court House are within a five-to-ten-minute drive, providing all the urban conveniences necessary for an extended seasonal stay.

The services offered at Green Holly Campground are tailored toward long-term RV comfort and convenient family living. The management provides a suite of essential utilities and professional oversight to ensure a smooth camping season. These services include:

  • Full RV hookups at all sites, featuring 30-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections.
  • On-site security and a gated entrance to maintain a private community atmosphere.
  • Seasonal site management with an operating window typically running from early March through late autumn.
  • Wi-Fi connectivity available throughout the park to help guests stay connected.
  • Professional maintenance of common areas, including the pool and sports courts.
  • A camp store providing essential items such as ice, firewood, and basic groceries.
  • Propane (LP Gas) refilling services available on-site for campers.
  • Laundry facilities equipped with washers and dryers for long-term guest use.

The features and highlights of Green Holly are built around the idea of "camp life"—a collection of amenities that encourage children to play and adults to unwind. The centerpiece of the recreational offerings is the solar-heated swimming pool, which serves as the social heart of the campground during the humid New Jersey summer months. For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, the grounds are equipped with various sports facilities that promote healthy competition among neighbors.

Key highlights of the property include:

  • A large, well-maintained swimming pool with sun-lounging areas.
  • Extensive sports facilities including a basketball court, tennis courts, and shuffleboard.
  • A modern playground area featuring slides and play structures specifically for younger children.
  • A clubhouse and covered pavilion used for planned activities and community entertainment.
  • Cable TV hookups at every site, perfect for rainy days or evening relaxation.
  • A classic game room that provides a fun indoor alternative for kids and teens.
  • Picnic tables and fire rings at each site to facilitate traditional outdoor dining and campfires.
  • Pet-friendly policies that allow leashed dogs, making it a true family getaway.

For more information on seasonal rates, site availability, or specific rules regarding RV age and type, the campground office is the best point of contact. The staff is experienced in helping families transition into the seasonal camping lifestyle.

When considering the many options for camping in Southern New Jersey, Green Holly Campground is worth choosing for its specific focus on the seasonal RV experience. It is an ideal fit for those who want a "home away from home" that feels like a quiet retreat rather than a busy roadside stop. The massive, tree-shaded sites offer a level of privacy that is increasingly rare in coastal resorts, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air without feeling overlooked by neighbors. The sense of community is a major draw; many families return for decades, creating a safe and familiar environment where children can roam and make lifelong friends.

Furthermore, it is worth choosing for its balance of price and location. While it maintains a peaceful, rural feel on Swainton Goshen Road, it keeps you close enough to the ocean to smell the salt air. It is a place for those who value tradition, quiet hours, and the simple joy of a wooded campsite. If you are looking for a reliable, family-oriented base to enjoy the best of the Jersey Cape every weekend of the summer, Green Holly Campground stands as a time-tested and welcoming option.

Water stunk, wifi was horrible and they all pay for it. Best thing is the speed limit and the other campers. Owners are money hungry. God forbid us have ti use there showers. They are horrible as well. Dirty and spiders while u shower.

Stayed here for Years. I loved the place. But no golf carts is a deal breaker. I dont understand why they dont allow carts. They could charge a little fee per season and make more money.I see your reply below. There is no License needed. Insurance is 35.00 a year. Not a big deal

Been staying at Green Holly my entire life. The community truly feels like family. I've been gone for nearly 5 years in Florida but every time I visit in that time, everyone still remembers me and is incredibly welcoming. Just a short drive to any local beaches, shopping areas, and restaurants. Not a summer goes by now that I don't miss going every weekend to my home away from home.

Affordable, family oriented, and very friendly. No transients which gets rid of most disturbances other campgrounds have. We have a beautiful pool that is always clean, lots of trees, everyone is willing to help even if you don’t ask. The only two downfalls I have are the fact that there is only one bath house and it’s very aged with no a/c and three stalls (remains locked unless you ask during store hours, closes with the store) and also you cannot have golf carts or any other electric vehicle. Other than those two things, it’s a great place for half the price of other campgrounds
