Harmony Ridge Farm & Campground Introduce
For New Jersey residents looking to escape the coastal hustle or city sprawl, the rolling hills of Sussex County offer a refreshing sanctuary. Harmony Ridge Farm & Campground, located in the charming town of Branchville, serves as a cornerstone of outdoor recreation in the Garden State. Spanning over 160 acres in the heart of the scenic Kittatinny Mountains, this family-owned facility has provided generations of campers with a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience. Whether you are looking for a weekend in a tent under the stars, a seasonal home for your RV, or a cozy cabin retreat, Harmony Ridge offers a diverse range of accommodations tailored to the local New Jersey lifestyle.
The campground is characterized by its lush, wooded landscape and its unique history as a former farm. Today, the property balances its agricultural roots with top-tier recreational facilities, including three onsite lakes and extensive floral gardens. Local users from Bergen, Hudson, and Essex Counties often find this destination ideal for a "micro-vacation," as it provides a true wilderness experience without the need for an exhausting multi-state road trip. The atmosphere at Harmony Ridge is welcoming and family-oriented, fostering a sense of community where neighbors often become lifelong friends around the shared warmth of a campfire.
Location and accessibility are two of the primary reasons Harmony Ridge is a favorite among New Jersey locals. Situated at 23 Risdon Drive in Branchville, the campground is easily reached via Route 206 and is just a short drive from the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The site is thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms. This commitment to inclusivity ensures that all members of the family, regardless of mobility needs, can enjoy the beauty of the Kittatinny region. Furthermore, the on-site parking is plentiful and free for guests, making the logistics of loading and unloading heavy camping gear or maneuvering large RVs straightforward and stress-free.
- RV Camping with Full Support: The park offers spacious RV sites equipped with dedicated water and electric hookups (30 and 50 amp service available) to support modern motorhomes and trailers.
- Tent and Group Sites: Large, wooded areas are reserved for traditional tent campers, providing a more rugged and secluded experience while remaining near facility centers.
- Cabin Rentals: For those who prefer a solid roof, the campground offers cabins that range from rustic sleepers to units with full kitchens and bathrooms.
- On-Site Country Store: A well-stocked camp store provides essentials such as ice, propane, seasoned split firewood, groceries, and those small items campers often forget to pack.
- Comprehensive Sanitation: Guests have access to clean restrooms with free hot showers and a conveniently located laundromat for longer stays.
- On-Premises Security: To maintain a peaceful environment, the campground features on-site management and security oversight 24/7.
The features and highlights of Harmony Ridge Farm & Campground are designed to keep families engaged throughout their stay. The facility isn't just a place to sleep; it’s a full-scale recreation center. From active sports to tranquil nature observation, the property leverages its 160 acres to provide something for everyone. The presence of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and occasionally black bears or bald eagles, adds an authentic layer of excitement to every visit.
- Swimming and Water Sports: A well-maintained swimming pool serves as a social hub during the summer, while the lakes offer opportunities for boating and catch-and-release fishing for bass and catfish.
- Sports Facilities: The grounds feature a Little League-sized baseball field, basketball courts, a hockey rink, and courts for shuffleboard, bocce ball, and volleyball.
- Extensive Hiking Trails: On-site trails offer scenic views of the mountains, and the campground is located just minutes away from the world-famous Appalachian Trail and Stokes State Forest.
- Children’s Recreation: A modern playground and kid-friendly hiking paths make it an excellent choice for families with young children; the game room and snack bar are also big hits with the younger crowd.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: Dogs are welcomed at the campground (on a leash), allowing New Jersey pet owners to bring their furry companions along for the adventure.
- Modern Payment Options: For convenience, the site accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for all camping fees and store purchases.
For those planning a trip, it is helpful to have the direct contact information for the site. Reservations are recommended, especially during the peak summer season and the vibrant autumn foliage months when the Kittatinny Mountains are at their most spectacular.

What is worth choosing about Harmony Ridge is the authentic, multi-generational experience it provides. This is a campground with a soul, run by the Risdon family for decades, where the traditions of song and storytelling around a campfire are still very much alive. Unlike some corporate-run RV parks that can feel sterile, Harmony Ridge maintains a "tranquil style of life" that intentionally moves at a slower pace. The diversity of the sites—ranging from waterfront views to mountain clearings—allows you to customize your stay to your specific preference for privacy or social interaction.
Additionally, the location serves as a perfect base camp for exploring broader Sussex County attractions. A short trip down the road takes you to Space Farms Zoo & Museum, or you can head to the nearby Sussex County Fairgrounds for seasonal events. For the New Jersey resident who wants to feel like they are in the deep wilderness while remaining close enough to local conveniences like the Mountain House Tavern or Jumboland Diner, Harmony Ridge strikes the perfect balance. Choosing this campground means supporting a local institution that prioritizes the preservation of New Jersey's natural heritage while providing a safe, clean, and fun environment for your family to create lasting memories.

Customer Reviews
My party has been enjoying 2 day camping outings at Harmony Ridge for 16 years when Ed & Doris ran the site. Our group of 7 to 9 guys are accustomed to a fun outing with access to power and facilities while roughing it in tents. We always use most of the seasoned split firewood. The next generation has taken over with the passing of Ed & Doris, keeping the place clean and we'll run, but pricing has quickly increased.
Stayed two nights with a variety of aged family. We rented a cabin which it was a step up from rustic and was nice to have a full kitchen and bathroom right in the cabin. The main building had a camp store which was nicely stocked with all those things you might have forgotten to pack. There was a game room and a community room for you to use. The pool area is very nice and well kept. I felt the other amenities could be a little better maintained. I was surprised that there weren’t any activities scheduled for kids/ families. Overall, it was relaxing but we would have not been able to sleep had we not thought to bring a fan. Close by is Space Farms which is a great activity to take up a portion of your day if you’re looking for something to do.
We had a nice stay here. It rained a bunch on our trip so we decided to explore the arcade and lodge area. They had some fun retro games my son really enjoyed and an indoor play area both of my kids liked. The grounds seemed very well maintained, they had just planted a bunch of rows of flowers. The staff were mixed. The lady and the young girls were nice. The old man seeme a bit grumpy lol but he'd fit right in with my work guys. Would stay here again if I was looking for a quiet weekend. No issues checking in or out.
Susan and staff is very friendly and helpfulBeautiful family campground site. 100% bears and deer spotted. I been there two times and spotted them. Very big camping spot and pricey between each site.water in site electric power on site
Super welcoming and lots of friendly people, places has nice sites with electricity and water. There are fun activities near the main building and overall had good time.
