Kymer's Campground Introduce

For those living in the heart of the Garden State, the call of the wild often leads to the northwestern highlands. Kymer's Camping Resort, located in the picturesque town of Branchville, New Jersey, has been answering that call for over five decades. Spanning 200 acres of lush, wooded terrain in the Kittatinny Mountains, this family-owned destination has become a staple for New Jersey residents seeking a high-quality outdoor experience. Whether you are a dedicated tent camper, an RV enthusiast, or someone who prefers the "glamping" comforts of a luxury cabin, Kymer's provides a structured yet serene environment to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with nature.

The resort is more than just a place to park a trailer; it is a full-scale vacation destination designed with families in mind. Established in 1972 by Frank Kymer, the campground has maintained its reputation for friendliness and professional management through generations. Local New Jersey users often describe the atmosphere as a true community where children can roam safely between the playground and the splash pad, while adults enjoy the quiet rustle of the mountain breeze. The balance of modern amenities—like Wi-Fi and cable TV—with the rugged beauty of the surrounding forest makes it an ideal choice for both a quick weekend "staycation" and a long-term seasonal retreat.

Location and accessibility are two of the primary reasons Kymer's remains a top-tier choice for locals. Situated at 69 Kymer Road, the resort is easily accessible via Route 206 and Route 15, making it a straightforward drive for residents of Morris, Essex, or Bergen Counties. Despite its proximity to these suburban hubs, the elevation of the Kittatinny Mountains ensures a crisp, mountain air experience that feels worlds away from the city. The park is thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind, offering wheelchair-accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms to ensure every member of the family can enjoy the grounds. Furthermore, its location serves as a gateway to some of New Jersey’s finest natural landmarks, including High Point State Park and Stokes State Forest.

The services offered at Kymer's are comprehensive, ensuring that even those new to camping feel right at home. The onsite staff is trained to assist with everything from backing in an RV to providing local hiking tips. The facility is equipped to handle modern RV needs with various hookup options, while also catering to those who arrive with nothing more than a car and a sleeping bag. For convenience, the park supports multiple payment methods, including credit cards and modern NFC mobile payments, making the check-in process at the camp store quick and efficient.

  • Full RV camping sites with 30-amp and 50-amp electric and water hookups.
  • Luxury rental options including park model trailers, deluxe cabins, and fully furnished luxury tents.
  • Dedicated tent sites for a traditional, rustic camping experience.
  • An onsite camp store stocked with basic groceries, ice, firewood, and fishing bait.
  • Propane tank refilling and coin-operated laundry facilities for extended stays.
  • Cable TV and Wi-Fi hotspot access at the pavilion area.
  • Professional onsite management and seasonal pump-out services.
  • A spacious pavilion available for group parties and planned community events.

The highlights of a stay at Kymer's are often found in the wide array of recreational activities available right on the property. The centerpiece of the resort is the Olympic-size heated swimming pool and the "Benji's Splash Forest" splash pad, which provide hours of entertainment for children during the humid New Jersey summers. For those who prefer a bit of sport, the resort features lighted tennis, basketball, and pickleball courts, allowing the games to continue even after the sun goes down. The two-acre stocked lake is a favorite for catch-and-release fishing or a quiet afternoon of kayaking, with rentals conveniently available on-site.

  • Immediate access to world-class hiking, including nearby spurs to the Appalachian Trail.
  • Olympic-size heated swimming pool accompanied by a relaxing hot tub.
  • A dedicated playground and "Gaga Pit" that are highly popular with younger guests.
  • Lighted sports courts for basketball, tennis, pickleball, and volleyball.
  • An 18-hole miniature golf course and a game room for indoor entertainment.
  • Scheduled theme weekends featuring live D.J.s, bingo, and family-oriented festivals.
  • Pet-friendly policies that allow you to bring your dogs along for the adventure.
  • A tranquil brook flowing adjacent to the property, perfect for quiet reflection.

For more information or to book your next family trip, the resort can be reached directly via phone or through their online reservation system. Planning ahead is recommended, especially for holiday weekends and the popular autumn foliage season.

What is worth choosing about Kymer's Camping Resort is the professional execution of the "resort-style" camping experience. Many campgrounds in the region offer either primitive isolation or overcrowded commercialism, but Kymer's hits the "sweet spot" in between. Choosing this campground means you are opting for a safe, well-maintained environment where the utilities are reliable and the activities are plentiful. It is particularly worth choosing if you have children of varying ages; the mix of the splash pad for toddlers and the sports courts and game room for teenagers ensures that no one is left out of the fun.

Furthermore, the variety of lodging options makes it an excellent choice for multi-generational families. While the younger generation might enjoy setting up a tent under the stars, grandparents can stay nearby in the comfort of a park model rental or a deluxe cabin. The proximity to the Appalachian Trail and local Delaware River rafting trips adds a layer of adventure that is hard to find elsewhere in the state. Ultimately, a stay at Kymer's is an investment in family time, offering a beautiful mountain backdrop where the only schedule you need to follow is the one that leads to the campfire. Whether you are here for the fishing, the hiking, or simply the sunshine by the pool, Kymer's provides a quintessentially New Jersey outdoor experience that feels like home.

Our family had a great time. The campground and sites are very well maintained. We were at Birch 34, on the corner. Easy to back into and right along the woods.

Our trips was a mother daughter trip, we rented 3 cabins. We had really enjoyed the campground, even through the rained on and off through our trip. We able to enjoy to the kayaking, mini golf, park space, along with clubhouse games such as paddle board and foosball. The staff upon check-in were very pleasant and helpful, and general store was useful where you can pick up anything you have forgotten. I can not wait for my next visit!
