The spirit of Pennsylvania camping is deeply rooted in the appreciation of the four seasons, and Hidden Valley Camping Resort embraces this by offering a peaceful retreat that is especially vibrant during the autumn months. As the foliage changes across the rolling hills of Union County, the resort becomes a hub for seasonal activities that appeal to both long-term residents and weekend travelers. The atmosphere is designed to be welcoming and family-oriented, fostering a community environment where children can play and adults can unwind. From the clean air of the countryside to the carefully maintained grounds, the resort seeks to provide a factual, grounded experience of Central Pennsylvania's natural beauty.
Accessibility and location are key components of the Hidden Valley experience. Situated at 162 Hidden Valley Lane in Mifflinburg, the resort is conveniently positioned for those exploring the regional highlights of Central PA. It is a popular choice for visitors participating in local bike trips or those attending the famous Christkindl Market in the winter. The location is easily accessible via major local roadways, including Route 192, which connects the resort to the broader network of Pennsylvania highways. This makes it an ideal spot for RV travelers who require easy entry and exit points, as well as for local families who want a quick weekend getaway without hours of transit time. The entrance and facilities are designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible restrooms and parking to accommodate all guests.
Services at Hidden Valley Camping Resort are structured to support both short-term vacations and extended seasonal stays. For the traditional camper, there are designated tent sites, while those who prefer the comforts of a hotel can opt for the well-maintained log cabins. These cabins are particularly noted for their cleanliness and inclusion of heating, which is essential for the fluctuating temperatures of Pennsylvania nights. The resort also prioritizes convenience in its operations, accepting a wide variety of modern payment methods including NFC mobile payments and major credit cards, which simplifies the check-in and check-out process for the modern traveler. When considering why Hidden Valley Camping Resort is worth choosing for your next Pennsylvania outing, the primary factor is its versatility. It is rare to find a location that successfully integrates the features of a resort hotel with the rugged appeal of an RV park and campground. For many local users, the choice is driven by the resort's ability to host different types of travelers in one cohesive environment. If you are traveling with a group where some prefer a tent and others prefer a cabin with a solid roof and heat, this resort eliminates the need for compromise. The cabins provide a "rustic but comfortable" getaway that meets the expectations of those looking for a clean, simple lodging option that is better integrated with nature than a standard highway hotel.
Another reason to choose this resort is its commitment to the family experience. The inclusion of organized events like pumpkin carving shows a level of care for the guest experience that goes beyond simply providing a patch of grass. For the Pennsylvania camper, these small details contribute to a sense of community. Furthermore, the resort’s pet-friendly stance and the addition of a dog park make it a practical choice for the many local residents who consider their dogs an essential part of the family unit. While the location near the intersection of local roadways provides easy access for travelers, it also means that the resort is never far from the local amenities of Mifflinburg, providing the perfect balance of rural seclusion and suburban convenience.
Finally, the resort is worth choosing for its adherence to modern standards of accessibility and service. In an era where many campgrounds are still cash-only or difficult to navigate for those with mobility challenges, Hidden Valley stands out by providing inclusive facilities and flexible payment options. This professional approach to campground management ensures that your focus remains on the relaxation and the beauty of the surrounding Union County landscape. Whether you are there for a weekend of biking, a seasonal celebration, or just a quiet night under the stars, Hidden Valley Camping Resort offers a factual, reliable, and welcoming environment for all Pennsylvanians.

Came to Mifflinburg for a weekend bike trip with an old friend. I thought it might be more relaxing to get a cabin rather than find a local hotel. Hidden Valley Camping Resort was perfectly located to our biking activities. We were there this fall, so it was the off season. The place was quiet and clean. The cabin itself was very clean, and had heat. Check in was easy. I enjoyed walking around the grounds. The only thing I would say is the futon mattress could do with an upgrade, otherwise the cabin met our expectations and I would recommend this as a rustic but comfortable weekend getaway.
The Good Stuff:1. Staff was polite, friendly and helpful.2. It was great they had pumpkin carving for the kids.3. The condition of the gravel tent site was well maintained. Fortunately, we were able to choose this site over our original grass pick. The grass sites were lower and less level. They were wet when we arrived and after a downpour, never fully drained. Had we set up on the original location, we would've been soaked. The Bad Stuff:1. The location of the tent site - the site map of the property cuts off the two intersecting highways that surround the tent sites on two sides, (Rt 192 and Hidden Valley Ln) so you have no idea your tent site is less than 20 yards from two major roadways that intersect until you arrive. Unfortunately, there is no other area on property designated as tent sites, so if you're tent camping, this is all you get. The only thing separating the tent site from the major road is a row of overgrown shrubs/trees. All weekend long all we heard were tractor trailers, racing cars/trucks, motorcycles, and highway traffic - all hours. One truck owner used RT 192 as their personal drag racing road (no muffler on the truck) back and forth all weekend long (2, 3 am). Motorcyclists used the straight stretch to pop wheelies back and forth.2. Golf cart owners kept driving their carts behind and along our tent site, even though it's a dirt path behind the site and a dead end next to the site. One couple drove behind our tent site with their dog walking behind the cart (not even in the cart), completely disrespecting our space and privacy.3. Quiet hours are supposed to be 10:30 pm to 8:00 am. 'Residents' who live on site don't seem to follow this, as one had multiple dogs barking throughout the night. I can't imagine how loud that must've been for those right next to them because we heard it from across an open field throughout the night both nights we were there.
I stayed here as it was close to Bucknell University, and it looked inviting on the webpage. I will not be returning back or recommending this campground/cabins to anyone and, I will discourage them from staying here.Tina at the front office is an absolutely horrible, rude, unhelpful and spiteful woman. I don't feel customer service, or friendly are in her genetics.I am a permanently disabled military veteran with 32 years of service and with a service animal. That doesn't make any darn bit of difference to being accommodating or nice when staying here. The Wi-Fi is terrible and basically nonexistent. I don't think the grounds maintenance crew have a pulse besides driving around together in groups of golf carts. Now for the cabin at the pond where I stayed. The most ridiculous "breakfast station ". Not big enough or functional for one person to use let alone four people. Only one main ceiling light and fan where the pulls can only be reached by standing on the bed. No microwave?!Now onto the inadequate bathroom facilities. There is a set of toilets behind the four pond cabins. When I saw this on the map, I thought that was great since the showers are a considerable distance away from the cabins… Until I actually went to use them. NO HOT WATER and in fact, the faucet top for the hot water on the sink is removed.if you want to wash your face or wash your hands before going to bed with hot water, that's not happening! Finally, the price. The little cabins by the pond cost $115 a night. It's an absolute rip off. I would barely consider paying $50 a night and that's a stretch for what you're NOT provided.
We had a wonderful weekend at Hidden Valley Camping Resort. Our group of three stayed in a deluxe cabin, which was perfectly suited to our needs. The accommodations were clean, well-maintained, and comfortable—the bed and futon both provided a great night’s sleep.During our stay, we enjoyed several of the resort’s amenities, including mini golf, fishing, and swimming in the pool. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we look forward to returning.
We loved camping here! We rented the cabin near the lake. It was very clean and the perfect size for what we needed.. the staff are amazing and very friendly. The kids had a lot of things to do while we were there. They fished, swam, and went on a hikes. I can't wait to go back!!!
