J&D Campground Introduce
For families across Pennsylvania seeking the perfect balance of outdoor relaxation and high-energy fun, J&D Campground in Catawissa stands as a premier destination. Family-owned and operated since 1970, this campground has welcomed three generations of the same family to manage its daily operations, fostering a warm and communal atmosphere that keeps visitors returning year after year. Originally starting as 50 acres of lush farmland, the property has been meticulously developed into a top-tier RV park that prioritizes landscaping, cleanliness, and guest comfort. Whether you are a local from Columbia County or traveling from across the state, J&D Campground offers a "country location" feel that serves as the ideal basecamp for exploring the Susquehanna River Valley.
The spirit of J&D Campground is defined by its commitment to traditional family values. From the old-style candy store in the office to the neatly maintained lawns, every detail is designed to evoke a sense of nostalgic charm. Unlike many modern corporate parks, this facility retains a peaceful, wooded environment where the sounds of nature prevail. The staff is consistently noted for their friendliness and helpfulness, often going out of their way to ensure that even first-time campers feel right at home. For those who want the convenience of modern RV life without losing the essence of the great outdoors, J&D provides a stable and scenic environment that captures the best of the Pennsylvania camping experience.
Location and accessibility are the standout features of J&D Campground. Situated at 973 Southern Dr Rt. 487 in Catawissa, PA 17820, the campground is strategically positioned just minutes away from Knoebels Amusement Resort. Local users frequently highlight that the drive to the park is approximately four minutes, making it one of the most convenient off-property lodging options for amusement park fans. The campground is easily accessible from major Pennsylvania highways, including I-80 and I-81. For those traveling with larger rigs, the management provides specific directions to avoid narrow or dangerous roads, ensuring a safe arrival. The entrance and facilities are designed to be inclusive, featuring wheelchair-accessible entry points, restrooms, and a dedicated parking lot.
Once on the grounds, guests will find that the layout is designed for ease of movement. The campground roads are blacktopped, which is not only excellent for the smooth transit of RVs but also provides a great surface for children to ride their bikes. The park is renowned for its "neat and clean" appearance, with the owners taking great pride in their landscaping and lawn care. This creates a visually appealing environment that feels more like a private park than a standard commercial campground. For families with children, the combination of a supervised pool, multiple playgrounds, and the charming old-fashioned candy store makes it a paradise for younger campers.
Furthermore, the value of staying at J&D is enhanced by the full hookup amenities included at every site. Customer Reviews
This campground is excellent! Stayed here for the first time in October with my family . All of the spots were well laid out and spacious enough . Nice views of their fishing lake. All of the staff and campers we ran into were extremely friendly and helpful and it was only a 4 minute drive to Knoebels as well as some other great local food spots . We will definitely be back!
I will definitely stay here again when we come to Knoebels. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. The campground was nicely wooded and clean. The space was right near a little river and level. We had a very short ride (maybe 2 minutes) to Knoebels and felt like we were coming back to a little country location. My kids loved the old-style candy store in the office where they could be candy by the piece.
Love J&D campground. It’s our go to location for visiting Knoebels. Campground has large, full hookup sites, nice pool with lifeguard, fishing pond, creek, mini-golf, camp store, laundry and special events. Always friendly and courteous staff. Seasonal and vacationing campers. Ice cream stand across the street. About 1.5 miles to Knoebels. Always a great time.
Camped there for a week. Close to everything. Bloomsburg fair and Knobles park. Great places to eat in the area. Campground was great nice large sites.
This was our first time staying at the campground but it will not be our last. Very friendly people, quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
