Lake Glory Campground Introduce

Lake Glory Campground, located in the heart of the Susquehanna River Valley in Catawissa, Pennsylvania, serves as a premier destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a blend of natural serenity and recreational excitement. As the "second" campground of the world-famous Knoebels Amusement Resort, Lake Glory offers a more secluded and tranquil alternative to the bustling activity of the main park grounds. Nestled around a beautiful five-acre stocked lake, the campground provides a picturesque setting that is especially stunning during the autumn months when the Pennsylvania foliage transforms into a vibrant display of gold and crimson.

The campground is designed to accommodate a wide variety of camping styles, from primitive tenting under the stars to full-service RV stays and cozy log cabin rentals. It has earned a reputation among local Pennsylvanians for being exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and spacious. Unlike many high-density campgrounds, Lake Glory emphasizes a "middle of nowhere" feel, providing larger sites that allow families to enjoy their own space while still being part of a friendly community. Whether you are a local resident looking for a weekend getaway or a traveler exploring Columbia County, Lake Glory provides a high-quality outdoor experience centered on the beauty of the Keystone State.

Location and accessibility are among Lake Glory’s greatest strengths. Situated at 96 Eisenhower Road, the campground is easily reached via major regional routes like Highway 422 and Route 11, making it a convenient stop for those traveling through Central Pennsylvania. Despite its quiet, wooded atmosphere, it is only a short 10-minute drive from Knoebels Amusement Resort, the country’s largest free-admission amusement park. This proximity allows guests to enjoy the best of both worlds: the peace of a lakeside retreat and the thrills of world-class roller coasters.

Accessibility is a priority at the facility, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the grounds comfortably. The campground features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lots, and specialized restroom and shower facilities. For those who wish to visit the amusement park without the hassle of driving and parking, a popular perk is the free shuttle bus service. This convenient shuttle runs regularly throughout the day, transporting campers directly to the gates of Knoebels, making it an ideal choice for families with children or those who prefer to leave the car at the campsite.

  • Full RV hookups including electric (30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer services.
  • Cozy log cabin rentals for a comfortable "glamping" experience.
  • Dedicated tent camping areas, including scenic creek-side and lake-view sites.
  • Free shuttle bus service to and from Knoebels Amusement Resort.
  • On-site General Store stocked with camping essentials, fishing supplies, and snacks.
  • "Fireside Fare" food stand featuring ice cream and quick meals with lake views.
  • Clean, individual-stall bathhouses with hot showers and laundry facilities.
  • Sanitary dump station available for guest use.

The highlights of Lake Glory Campground revolve around its namesake lake and the family-oriented atmosphere. The five-acre lake is a centerpiece for recreation, where guests are encouraged to participate in catch-and-release fishing. It is not uncommon for anglers to pull largemouth bass or catfish from the water right from the edge of their campsite. For children, the campground offers a safe and engaging environment with modern playgrounds and organized Saturday morning activities such as crafts and games, which are often a highlight for younger visitors.

  • A five-acre stocked lake perfect for fishing, frog catching, and scenic walks.
  • Pet-friendly environment where dogs are welcomed at RV and tent sites.
  • Two large covered pavilions available for group gatherings and picnics.
  • Recreational facilities including a basketball court, volleyball court, and a game room/arcade.
  • Saturday morning children’s activities and demonstrations during the peak season.
  • Discounts for on-property guests, including 10% off Knoebels ride ticket books (Monday-Friday) and golf discounts at Three Ponds Golf Course.
  • Quiet hours and regular security rounds to ensure a peaceful environment for all.

For those planning a trip to the Catawissa area, Lake Glory Campground is a seasonal facility, typically operating from mid-April through mid-October. Given its popularity as a companion to Knoebels, early reservations are highly recommended, especially for holiday weekends and the peak autumn season. You can contact the campground office through the following information:

  • Address: 96 Eisenhower Rd, Catawissa, PA 17820, USA

What makes Lake Glory Campground truly worth choosing is the balance it strikes between convenience and tranquility. For many Pennsylvania families, camping is a tradition tied to the Knoebels experience, and Lake Glory provides that experience without the constant noise and crowds associated with on-site park camping. The ability to fish in a well-stocked lake, enjoy a quiet campfire, and then hop on a free shuttle for an afternoon of rides is a combination that is hard to find elsewhere. The staff is frequently praised for their informative and kind service, often going out of their way to ensure that even a late arrival or a missed shuttle bus doesn't spoil a family's vacation.

Furthermore, the value offered here is exceptional. With no extra charges for large families or guests and the inclusion of numerous amenities like the playground, shuttle, and clean bathhouses, it remains an affordable way to enjoy one of Pennsylvania’s top tourist regions. The picturesque landscape, particularly the misty autumn mornings over the water, provides a "Pinterest-worthy" backdrop that elevates a simple camping trip into a cherished family memory. If you are looking for a campground that values cleanliness, family fun, and the natural beauty of the Susquehanna Valley, Lake Glory Campground is a premier local choice that consistently delivers on its promise of a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Lake Glory Campground! It’s a beautiful and peaceful spot, my husband even fished right in the lake and caught some largemouth bass and a small catfish. The scenery was absolutely picturesque, especially in the fall with that gorgeous autumn haze that made everything look like something out of Pinterest. The campground itself was quiet, clean, and well maintained. Not every campsite was booked during our stay, which made it feel spacious and not overcrowded. The shuttle to Knoebels was super convenient and a great perk for campers. The only downside was that our tent site was near some campers who stayed up until about 1:15 a.m. our first night and were quite loud. Since we were in a tent, we could hear everything. We didn’t end up complaining, but it did take away from the peaceful atmosphere that night.Overall though, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again especially in the fall!

We Love lake glory campground. We stayed in a cabin. It was so fun and the staff at the office were so kind and informative, especially about the park. Even the bus driver who takes you to Knoebles was so kind and came back for our family bc we weren’t ready at the exact time the bus was leaving. I also appreciate how clean the bathrooms are for a campground. I def recommend this camp ground for families.

The cabins were disappointing. There are nothing but a box with no AC or heat. Bring your own air conditioner or heater. Bring your own mattress as theirs are not very good. The personnel there are fantastic and very very nice. The service there is excellent. Everything in the campsite is fantastic except for the cabins. I on have been going there for 30 years now in my own RV and I've always had a great time. But if you're renting a cabin be prepared for what you get.

Campground is beautiful. Tons of shaded spacious sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Very quiet and relaxing. Approximately 5 min drive to Knoebels and 1 hr scenic drive to lake tobias wildlife park. Staff was very friendly.

I’m deeply disappointed and hurt by the treatment my family and I received at this campsite. As a Hispanic family, we were racially profiled the moment we arrived. Within minutes of setting up, security began tailing us, watching our every move like we didn’t belong there. To make things worse, we were complained about for our crying baby, who only cried that one time-something that any family with young children understands is natural and sometimes unavoidable. Instead of offering any understanding or support, we felt targeted and unwelcome from the start. We came to this campsite to relax and enjoy nature, but instead we left feeling uncomfortable, judged, and disrespected. No one should be made to feel this way, especially not because of their ethnicity. Why approach me and start off by saying "do you speak English?"I hope the management reflects seriously on how guests are treated. Every paying customer deserves fairness, respect, and the same level of hospitality—regardless of their race or background. To top it off - no trees , muddy areas , no pool , dirty bathrooms
