Lantern Hill Mobile Home Park Introduce

Lantern Hill Mobile Home Park stands as a revitalized and welcoming residential community nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Catskill Mountains in Oneonta, New York. Since its establishment, the park has undergone significant improvements under proactive ownership, focusing on creating a secure and comfortable environment for a diverse group of residents, including young professionals, growing families, and retirees. For those in the New York region looking for a housing option that balances affordability with a high quality of life, Lantern Hill offers a compelling alternative to traditional apartment living or high-priced site-built homes. The park is characterized by its tranquil atmosphere and the scenic beauty typical of Otsego County, providing a peaceful backdrop for modern manufactured home living.

The management at Lantern Hill is committed to a mission of providing "secure housing for individuals and families" while maintaining a community-oriented spirit. Recent investments in infrastructure, such as the repaving of park roads and enhanced landscaping, signal a long-term dedication to the property's potential. Residents often note the visible efforts of the owners to maintain the grounds and address park issues promptly. This proactive approach has helped the community shed older reputations and emerge as a premiere choice for those seeking manufactured housing in the Oneonta area. With a focus on both physical upkeep and community standards, Lantern Hill aims to be a place where neighbors can build lasting connections and take pride in their neighborhood.

Location and accessibility are among the park's strongest assets, particularly for those who value convenience without the noise of a city center. Situated at 5106 NY-23, Lantern Hill is strategically located just one-tenth of a mile from the Southside Mall, placing a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options within easy reach. The park is also approximately 1.5 miles from the vibrant downtown Oneonta area, home to Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta, making it an ideal location for staff or students seeking off-campus housing. Access to public transportation is available nearby, and the park’s proximity to Interstate 88 ensures that residents can easily commute to nearby cities like Cooperstown, Albany, or Binghamton. Despite its closeness to retail hubs like Super Wal-Mart and local restaurants, the park maintains a quiet, residential feel thanks to its 21-acre layout and wooded surroundings.

Lantern Hill Mobile Home Park offers a comprehensive suite of services designed to simplify the living experience and reduce the hidden costs often associated with homeownership. The service model focuses on "affordability and convenience," ensuring that essential utilities and maintenance are handled efficiently. Services offered include:

  • On-site operations management with emergency help available 24/7.
  • Comprehensive lot lease agreements that typically include essential water and sewer services.
  • Curbside trash pickup and recycling services included with the lot fee.

  • A streamlined online repair request system for residents in park-owned rental units.
  • Options for renting, rent-to-own programs, or purchasing manufactured homes directly.

What makes Lantern Hill worth choosing is its unique combination of location, affordability, and dedicated management. In the New York housing market, finding a free-standing home with a yard and a private driveway for a predictable monthly cost is increasingly rare. Lantern Hill makes this possible by offering lot fees and rent increases that have remained modest and stable over the years. By choosing this park, residents gain the independence of single-family living without the burden of property taxes on the land or the extensive maintenance of a large traditional lot. The ability to own or rent a modern home just minutes away from first-class amenities like the Southside Mall adds a layer of convenience that is hard to match.

Furthermore, the park is worth choosing for its ongoing commitment to improvement. The transition from older management styles to the current ownership has brought about a renewed focus on cleanliness and safety. The park’s rules and regulations are designed to protect the quiet enjoyment of all residents, ensuring that the community remains a peaceful retreat. Whether you are looking for a temporary housing solution during a life transition or a permanent home in a tight-knit community, Lantern Hill provides a solid foundation for your future in Oneonta. It is a place with immense potential and a clear vision, offering a high-value living experience in one of New York's most beautiful regions.

Best landlords I've experienced in my whole life. Yes, some people who live in here are unfavorable but it is the best trailer park in Oneonta. Roads were paved 2 summers ago. The owners are working to clean it up, I have seen a lot of improvement since I moved in 2 years ago. Wish people would stop seeing it as Mencena's and see it for what it is now and what it has potential to become. But that's not only up to the owners, but the people who live in the park.

The road is terrible through there.. caution will destroy your vehicle! The community there seems nice...they deserve to have their road paved or at least filled in.. not sure who that falls on responsability wise. Definitely needs immediate attention! Very serious condition..worse the some of the worst logging roads I've traveled.. they should respect their residence if they are paying rent and fix it.. not that hard of a task really

I used to live there for a few years and it was the best time I ever had there as a child, I had to move away to the south but if I could live there again with my wife and child, tbh wish I could get back into that park, so my child could experience the great community that I did

Horrible road makes driving onto the property difficult. But pets allowed, nice family park. Owner takes no pride in upkeep though and it shows.
