Oma's Family Campground Introduce

For Pennsylvania residents looking to escape the hustle of city life, Oma’s Family Campground in Kirkwood serves as a premier destination for relaxation and community. Nestled in the southern end of Lancaster County, this family-owned and operated facility offers a quintessential "Dutch Country" experience. As local users know, the charm of this region lies in its rolling hills, horse-drawn buggies, and the slow pace of life that permeates the area. Oma’s encapsulates this spirit, providing a wooded sanctuary where campers can trade the sound of traffic for the rustle of hardwood trees and the clip-clop of passing Amish carriages along Kirkwood Pike.

The campground is well-regarded for its inclusive atmosphere, catering to a mix of full-time travelers, seasonal residents, and weekenders. From the perspective of a local camper, what sets Oma’s apart is its commitment to the traditional family camping experience. The grounds are meticulously well-kept, reflecting the pride of ownership that comes from a small, dedicated staff. Whether you are visiting for a quiet retreat or using the park as a basecamp to explore the nearby outlets and attractions of Lancaster, the "great vibe" and friendly community make every guest feel like a neighbor rather than a customer.

This place is everything positive about family owned campgrounds that have a mixture of permanent, seasonal and weekenders passing thru. Well kept grounds, friendly people both staying and working, and just a great vibe all around. If you want some peace and quiet you are headed to the right place here! We loved it so much we will be back! Site 16 is the perfect spot. We got to truly experience why we full time travel here. Sunsets, local attractions, community, hikes close by, etc. Facilities very clean and grounds well maintained.

I've been here since early August (I think) and have really enjoyed the peace and quiet here. I will be moving on in a few days but I highly recommend this park and if I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely revisit Oma's. Great views, two close towns with everything you could need, in the middle of Amish country and even a reasonable distance from Lancaster. An even mix of full time, seasonal, and weekenders and everyone was very friendly. I have two large dogs and never had a single problem. The best price and 5 bars cellular connection for Verizon and AT&T. Streamed movies and worked online with no problem whatsoever. Lastly, I only had one problem with a box on my first site and mentioned it to Jenn (the manager) and she fixed I within minutes!

We rented one of the rental trailers. The trailer was immaculate and spacious. We had to bring bed linens and personal toiletries but everything else is there. Towels, paper towels, plates, cups, coffee maker, coffee filters, dish liquid, etc.The owners could not be nicer. They all went out of their ways to accommodate us. They brought Firewood and Firestarters right to our site, offered the use of their tripod to cook over the fire, told us where extra outside games were for our grandchildren, helped us set up the TV and more. Just so amazing! We loved our short stay and can't wait to go back. Hopefully for longer than one night next time!

Manager is running a flop house, has a friend living in the main house, manager is never available for calls or outside to catch and speak to. Seasonal contracts still haven't been given. Packages delivered to campers have been opened and retaped after arrival. What do I have to do to speak with anyone that can help resolve these issues?

We had our first camping experience here and glad this was where we picked. Staff were great and a shout out to Chris who was a great help with parking. The other campers were great as well. It's a friendly campground wish we could have joined the bonfires but we were exhausted by the end. Nice clean bathhouse and nice sized sites. The dog run was great to have. The views were great as well definitely on our list to come back!
