This destination is widely recognized by locals as a "hidden gem" of the Raystown Lake region, offering a more rugged and authentic outdoor experience than the more commercialized tourist hubs nearby. Originally serving as a Boy Scout camp, the property has retained its nostalgic, rustic charm while transitioning into a public campground that welcomes families, solo adventurers, and nature enthusiasts alike. It is the kind of place where the silence is only broken by the lapping of lake water and the rustle of the surrounding forest, making it a premier choice for those who prioritize tranquility and natural beauty.

The atmosphere at Putts Campground is defined by its history and its dedicated stewards.
