Rest-N-Nest Campground Introduce

For those of us living in the Green Mountain State, finding a getaway that feels like a true escape while remaining accessible is a top priority. Rest-N-Nest Campground, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Upper Connecticut River Valley in East Thetford, Vermont, offers exactly that balance. Spanning 20 acres of lush, forested terrain, this campground has earned a reputation among locals and travelers alike as the "campground with elbow room." Whether you are looking for a weekend retreat with the family or a long-term stay while working in the region, Rest-N-Nest provides a serene environment designed for relaxation and community.

Under the dedicated ownership of Mike and his family, who took over the property roughly three years ago, the campground has seen continuous improvements. The management is deeply committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and comfort, ensuring that every guest—from first-time trailer owners to seasoned RV veterans—feels welcomed from the moment they pull in. The atmosphere is quintessentially Vermont: quiet, woodsy, and incredibly peaceful, making it an ideal base for exploring the surrounding natural wonders of the Northeast.

Rest-N-Nest is particularly well-regarded for its accommodating nature toward long-term residents, including travel nurses and healthcare professionals. Its proximity to major regional medical centers, combined with a quiet environment that respects night-shift schedules, makes it a unique find in the local camping landscape. The community vibe is strong here, with a friendly culture where neighbors look out for one another and the staff goes out of their way to answer questions and provide assistance.

  • Location and Accessibility

This central location means that most major attractions in both Vermont and New Hampshire are within a one-hour drive, allowing you to spend more time enjoying your destination and less time on the road.

Accessibility is a key focus for the facility. The campground features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lots, ensuring that all guests can navigate the grounds with ease. For those coming from larger cities, it is approximately 1.5 hours from Burlington, VT, and just about 20 minutes from the Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center area in Hanover and Lebanon. The site's layout is designed to handle RVs of various sizes, with spacious roads and level sites that make setup a breeze.

What makes Rest-N-Nest worth choosing over other options in the region is the genuine care provided by the owners. In an era where many campgrounds are becoming corporate-owned, the "mom-and-pop" feel here is preserved through Mike’s hands-on management. The "elbow room" promised by the campground is not just a slogan; the sites truly are larger than average, providing the privacy and quiet that many modern parks lack. It is a place where the facilities are maintained with a level of pride that shows, from the spotless bathrooms to the well-kept gravel and grass sites. For families, the combination of a pool, a pond, and a playground ensures the kids are always engaged, while the peaceful forest setting provides the restorative experience that Vermont campers seek.

We had an amazing stay at this RV campground! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and welcoming. The sites were spacious, level, and well-maintained, with full hookups and plenty of room to relax. We loved how peaceful and quiet the area was. I stayed in two lots during my time there (moved closer to the restrooms during winter).Clean restrooms, hot showers, and a laundry room that's on a sign up basis (sign up ahead of time if you're planning a day off). The community vibe made it easy to meet other travelers. As a travel nurse who works the night shift, finding a safe, quiet, and affordable long-term stay can be tricky—but this place checks all the boxes. Mike, the owner goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and truly understands the needs of healthcare professionals. He purchased this property about 3 years ago and works effortlessly every day to make it comfortable for all of us. This was my first trailer purchase and decided to do full time from day one. He was helpful from day one and answered all the questions I had during my stay. His family was incredibly accommodating with my schedule and offered a great monthly rate that made it easy to settle in without stress.Highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for an stress-free, enjoyable RV stay! Travel RN's, make sure to ask about winter rates!
