Ridgeview Campground Introduce
For outdoor enthusiasts and families across the Commonwealth, Ridgeview Campground serves as a premier destination for experiencing the natural splendor of Central Pennsylvania. Nestled in the scenic mountains of Huntingdon County, this campground and RV park offers a perfect blend of peaceful seclusion and modern convenience. Known as a "home away from home" for many local travelers, Ridgeview is designed to accommodate a variety of camping styles, from those seeking a quiet weekend in a tent to dedicated travelers looking for long-term seasonal RV sites. The atmosphere is characterized by a friendly, community-driven spirit, making it an ideal choice for Pennsylvanians who want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life without sacrificing the comforts of top-tier facilities.
What sets Ridgeview Campground apart is its commitment to providing a clean, fun, and accessible environment. The property has recently undergone modern updates, including the addition of a high-quality bathhouse that guests frequently praise for its cleanliness and contemporary design. Whether you are a "newbie" to the world of RVing or a seasoned veteran with a massive 45-foot rig, the campground’s spacious lot layout ensures that every guest can settle in with ease. The surrounding landscape offers a quintessential Pennsylvania experience, with rolling hills and lush forests that provide a stunning backdrop for morning coffee or evening campfires under the stars.
Location and accessibility are two of the strongest selling points for Ridgeview Campground. Situated at 11479 Ridgeview Camping Road in Huntingdon, the park is strategically located just minutes from Raystown Lake, Pennsylvania’s largest lake entirely within state borders. For boating enthusiasts, the proximity is unbeatable; the campground is only a five-minute drive from Snyder’s Run Boat Launch and eight minutes from the Seven Points Marina and Recreation Area. This allows guests to spend their days on the water—fishing, swimming, or kayaking—and return to a quiet, mountain-top retreat by evening. While the drive up the mountain involves some scenic winding roads, the paths are well-maintained and manageable even for large fifth-wheels and motorhomes.
In terms of physical accessibility, Ridgeview Campground is designed to be inclusive. The property features wheelchair-accessible entrances, a dedicated parking lot, and fully accessible restroom facilities, ensuring that all members of the family can enjoy the grounds comfortably. For those relying on GPS, local users often recommend using the address of the neighboring property at 11601 Piney Ridge Road if their devices have trouble locating the specific campground lane, ensuring a stress-free arrival. Once on-site, the wide gravel paths and level parking areas make navigating the grounds simple and convenient.

When looking for the perfect spot in the Raystown Lake region, Ridgeview Campground is worth choosing for its exceptional balance of utility and tranquility. Unlike some larger, more crowded resorts, Ridgeview maintains a peaceful atmosphere where you can actually hear the sounds of nature. The "modern farmhouse" quality of the facilities—particularly the new bathhouse—elevates the camping experience from "roughing it" to a true vacation. The extra-large sites are a significant draw, removing the stress of backing in large trailers and giving families plenty of room to set up outdoor kitchens and lounging areas.
Furthermore, the location is a strategic masterpiece for any outdoor lover. Being just minutes away from Snyder’s Run means you can beat the crowds to the boat launch in the morning and be back at your site for lunch without losing half your day to travel. The addition of the on-site store and free Wi-Fi means that even though you are tucked away on a mountain ridge, you are never far from the essentials. For Pennsylvania residents seeking a reliable, friendly, and high-quality outdoor home base, Ridgeview Campground stands out as a top-tier choice that consistently earns its five-star reputation.

Friendly and fun atmosphere. Bathhouse is pretty new and very clean. Spacious lots easy to get a large camper backed in. Very close to Snyder’s boat launch.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it! Driving up the mountain’s windy road was a little scary for us newbies pulling a 44-foot fifth wheel, but we had no issues getting in or out. The campground is very peaceful, clean, and the people—both staff and fellow campers—were so friendly and welcoming. It’s a seasonal campground, so it has a relaxed, community feel. We didn’t get a chance to check out the nearby lake, but it seemed to be a favorite spot for other campers. The location is great—lots of shopping just a few minutes away. We ended up going to Walmart a couple of times, and it was honestly the nicest Walmart I’ve ever seen—super clean, almost like a Target! One tip for anyone using a GPS: our Garmin didn’t recognize the campground’s address, so we entered the one for the campground next door (11601 Piney Ridge Rd), which got us there with no problem. We’d definitely stay again!
We had an excellent stay here. The sites are level and spacious with plenty of room for my 32.5ft camper, truck and my boyfriend’s truck and boat. The sites are clean. People in the campground followed the 10pm quiet hours which I appreciated. Nobody left their outside lights on all night. I also appreciated that! The only criticism I have is I wish there were more trees in the park for shade. It was very hot this week and my RV ACs probably would have kept up better if there were shade. Keep in mind the road leading to Snyder’s boat ramp is not paved but it is only about a mile away. I had a great time celebrating my 30th birthday here and would stay again.
One of the best campgrounds I’ve stayed at in the country. Simple but very clean, level sites. Bath house was very clean plenty of space. I had a question and called off hours surprisingly got to talk to a real live human! Website is easy to navigate and book. Worth the stay, will definitely be back.
This was our first time at Ridgeview. We were very happy with the entire trip from booking to amenities and the wonderfully flat, grave site. The grounds and bathhouses are very well kept. They have firewood and ice for sale as well as a small store. We do not have kids but there was a nice playground for them, a big, covered picnic area right beside it, frisbee golf as well as boat storage. The full hookups were nice to have as we usually boondock or have minimal utilities. We will definitely be back. There is so much to do in the area. The Wi-Fi was a little slow but who cares, you are there to get away from everything anyway. It seems like a lot of folks stay there for the season and know each other. Everyone was very nice.
