Riverside Village & RV Park Introduce
For residents and travelers in Central New York, finding a place that combines the tranquility of waterfront living with the convenience of regional accessibility is a significant find. Riverside Village & RV Park, located in the hamlet of Portlandville within the Town of Milford, serves as a dual-purpose residential and recreational destination. Nestled along the banks of the Susquehanna River, just north of Goodyear Lake, the property caters to both long-term mobile home residents and seasonal RV enthusiasts. Its location in the heart of Otsego County makes it a strategic choice for those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Leatherstocking Region while remaining close to the cultural hubs of Oneonta and Cooperstown.
The park is defined by its immediate proximity to the water, offering a serene environment where the slow-moving river sets the pace of daily life. For local New Yorkers, Riverside Village is often viewed as a "gateway" to the outdoor recreation that defines this part of the state. Whether you are a full-time resident in the mobile home section or a visitor looking for a summer base for fishing and paddling, the park provides an opportunity to live in direct contact with the upstate landscape. The wooded surroundings and river views create a distinct sense of place that differentiates it from more standard inland developments.
Location and accessibility are primary drivers for the park's popularity. Riverside Village & RV Park is situated at 2954 NY-28, Portlandville, NY 13834, USA. This address places it directly on New York State Route 28, a major north-south corridor that connects the city of Oneonta to the historic village of Cooperstown. For local commuters and travelers, this means a short ten-minute drive to the shopping and services of Oneonta or a fifteen-minute scenic route to the National Baseball Hall of Fame. The park’s entrance is clearly marked along the highway, and it features on-site parking to accommodate both residential vehicles and guests visiting for the day.
The accessibility of the Susquehanna River from the property is a major draw for water enthusiasts. While the park itself is a private residential area, it is located within walking distance of the Portlandville Fishing Access Site and small boat launch maintained by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. This proximity allows residents and visitors to easily launch canoes, kayaks, and rowboats to explore over 15 miles of calm, flat water between the park and the dam at Goodyear Lake. For those without their own equipment, local rental services are conveniently located nearby, making the river accessible to everyone regardless of their gear.

The features and highlights of Riverside Village & RV Park are centered on its riverside charm and its "Central-to-Everything" location. A highlight for many is the ability to walk just a few steps from a mobile home or RV and be at the river’s edge. The area is teeming with wildlife, and it is not uncommon for residents to spot bald eagles, ospreys, and river otters directly from their sites. For families, the park’s location makes it an excellent home base for visiting local attractions like the Bear Pond Winery, the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley Railroad, and the various farm-to-table markets that dot Route 28.

To learn more about lot availability, seasonal RV rates, or specific park rules, you can contact the management at Riverside Village & RV Park. The main office phone number is (607) 432-0823, and the mobile contact is +1 607-432-0823. The park is located at 2954 NY-28, Portlandville, NY 13834, USA. Because the park is a mix of private residential living and commercial camping, it is highly recommended to call in advance for reservations or to schedule a time to view available mobile home lots.
What is worth choosing about Riverside Village & RV Park is the lifestyle of "convenient seclusion." For the New Yorker who wants to live on the water but still needs to be at work in Oneonta in ten minutes, this park offers a rare compromise. It is worth choosing for the outdoor enthusiast who views the river as their primary recreational outlet. Having the Susquehanna in your backyard means that every evening can involve a quiet paddle or a bit of fishing, which is a significant quality-of-life benefit that inland parks simply cannot match.
Furthermore, the park’s location on the "Cooperstown Corridor" adds a layer of long-term value. Whether you are looking for a place to retire near the river or a seasonal spot to enjoy the baseball season, the infrastructure for RVs—including full hookups—makes it a practical choice. While management and road conditions can vary as with any private community, the underlying value of the land and the river access remains a constant draw. For those seeking an affordable way to live in one of the most beautiful sections of Otsego County, Riverside Village & RV Park provides a functional and scenic foundation for life along the river.

Owner of the property Lathem Builders , has promised to repair the road for a year now. It's practically impassable and is a hazard to the school children to get to the bus stop or coming home. Some craters in the road are over eight inches deep. The children have to either walk in the side road mud or negotiate the craters in the road. Those of us with cars that live here or vist family at the park are ruining our cars .Those that tow our boats or mobile homes have to worry about our tow equipment and trucks that are pushed to the limit .The owner which I will not name here is a belligerent nasty man and curses at you and trys to scare you into not bother him.Don't rent here, they have no boat launch or docks as advertised basically a run down lot.
The owner of this park is extremely rude. I wouldn't recommend staying here or even visiting. These people are sure to make your life hell.
Great place to put your RV with boat launch for campers only and easy access to Goodyear Lake & Cooperstown.
