SoHi Campground Introduce
SoHi Campground serves as a quintessential retreat for New Yorkers seeking to swap the city skyline for the star-filled canopies of the Hudson Valley. Located in the picturesque town of Accord, New York, this campground has become a beloved fixture for those who appreciate the rustic charm of the Catskills. The name itself, "SoHi," is a nod to its elevated position—originally inspired by a child marvelling at how high up the hill the camp sat. Today, it remains a family-owned and operated establishment where the owner, Ralph, is known for his friendly, flexible approach and commitment to ensuring every guest has a "cool" and relaxing experience. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a seasonal home base, SoHi offers a clean, quiet, and perfectly organized environment designed for ultimate relaxation.
The atmosphere at SoHi Campground is defined by its natural serenity and inclusive community spirit. It is a place where the air is fresh, and the pace of life slows down significantly. Guests often remark on the "insanely good" experiences they have here, largely due to the meticulous maintenance of the facilities and the high standards of cleanliness, particularly in the restrooms and showers. The campground is thoughtfully divided into shaded, secluded woods for tent campers and grassy meadow areas for those with RVs, ensuring that everyone can find their ideal camping aesthetic. With a focus on traditional outdoor fun, SoHi encourages families to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature through simple pleasures like campfires, stargazing, and community breakfasts.
Location and Accessibility make SoHi Campground an ideal destination for residents from across the New York region. Situated at 425 Woodland Road in Accord, NY 12404, it is approximately a two-hour drive from New York City and just 20 minutes from the vibrant hubs of Kingston and New Paltz. The drive to the campground takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Ulster County, including rolling farmlands and mountain vistas. For those traveling with specific needs, the campground provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible parking lot. Furthermore, the diversity of the terrain at SoHi makes it a versatile choice. You can choose a site in the deep woods if you want total privacy and the sound of a bubbling stream, or a site in the open meadow if you prefer to be closer to the playground and pool. Its location in Accord puts you in the center of a "hidden gem" region of New York, surrounded by local farm markets, orchards, and some of the best hiking trails in the country. Choosing SoHi means choosing an experience where you can spend your day climbing the Shawangunk Ridge and your night watching the constellations from your own campfire. It is this balance of adventure, comfort, and genuine hospitality that makes SoHi Campground a standout choice for anyone looking to experience the best of the Catskills.

The campground was very quiet. Site was a bit dirty, lots of small garbage which we picked up before we left.
Had an incredible weekend at Sohi with a group of 35 friends. When I initially called to inquire about booking their group site and spoke to Ralph, I knew I found my campsite! Ralph and Rob were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We booked the group site which is tree lined and beautiful, has electric, and 2 bathrooms, a sink and shower just for the area. Bathrooms and shower were very clean and well maintained, and had hot water.Plenty of picnic benches and fire rings for use and electric. Our whole group agreed it was a perfect campsite and can't wait to come back. Thank you Ralph!
