Situated along the scenic East Branch of the Delaware River and the West Settlement Stream, this campground provides an authentic "upstate" escape for residents of the New York region. Whether you are seeking a weekend of quiet reflection by the water or an active adventure exploring the high peaks, Stratton Falls serves as a premier basecamp. Under new ownership for the 2026 season, the facility continues its legacy of providing a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere where modern life is set aside in favor of crackling campfires and mountain vistas.
The campground is characterized by its unique geography, featuring expansive lower and middle fields that catch the first rays of morning sun over Scudder Hill and Vega Mountain. For New Yorkers accustomed to the vertical skyline, the wide-open skies and lush greenery of the Delaware County landscape provide a profound sense of space. The environment is particularly noted for its natural beauty, with bald eagles frequently seen fishing in the river and the gentle sound of the falls providing a rhythmic backdrop to your stay. It is a place where families and solo travelers alike can find a tailored experience, from the rugged simplicity of a rustic tent site to the full-service convenience of a seasonal RV hookup.
Location and accessibility are major highlights for visitors traveling from across the state. Had the best time with my family here! The campground is super family and pet friendly, the views are gorgeous, and nights by the campfire were perfect. Can’t wait to come back for more laughing, relaxing and making memories!
I camped here before the Cross Mountain Crusher bike gravel ride over the weekend in Arkville. It's the closest campsite to the start of the ride, 10 minutes in the morning - which is great for an early start. This place is wonderful and the new owners are lovely and accomidating. The lower field is stunningly beautiful with easy acess to the East Branch of the Delaware River. A bald eagle was hanging around fishing when I hiked down there (I stayed in the middle field since it was a bit cold and wanted to be off the river a bit.) Both fields have hot showers, bathrooms, laundry etc. Each site has a firepit. I use a tent, but they have plenty of RV hookups with electricity and water. Pretty much the whole campground gets sun all day as soon as the sun peeks over Scudder Hill and Vega Mountain. If you are coming up for Mountain Jam Festival next summer - you should absolutely grab a site here rather than on the mountain. It will save you a TON of money, you'll have a much nicer stay and its only 20-25 minutes away.
Very quiet, small campground minutes from town in the woods, with bathrooms n a shower.Run by a couple of very nice & accommodating people.
Such a good spot to camp! My partner and I were in our tent here and had a great time! Not too buggy and not too loud. Shows and bathrooms were very clean. Right next to some great restaurants and swim spots! And perfect place to camp if going to mountain jam. Highly recommend, we will be back soon!
Beautiful and Quiet campground in New York State. I highly recommend a visit.
