What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Sun Retreats New Point is particularly worthwhile for those who view the Chesapeake Bay as their playground. The marina and boat ramp facilities are a standout feature, making this one of the few RV parks in the region where you can literally park your rig and your boat within the same facility. For avid anglers and boaters, the convenience of having an on-site fish cleaning station and 70 available slips cannot be overstated. The park’s transition to seasonal stays also makes it a strong contender for those looking for a "summer home" experience, allowing families to build a consistent community with neighboring campers over several months.
Additionally, the resort’s "all-age" appeal is a significant draw. With a combination of a private beach, a full swimming pool, and a fitness center, there is something to satisfy every family member's vacation style. Pet owners will find the inclusion of a dedicated dog beach particularly valuable, as public beaches in the region often have strict limitations on where dogs can roam. For those who enjoy exploring local history and nature, the proximity to the New Point Comfort Nature Preserve offers an educational and scenic outlet just minutes away. While the park is large and bustling during peak times, the sheer variety of onsite services ensures that you can enjoy a full vacation without ever needing to leave the property.

Customer Reviews
Terrible company. They do not care about any customer complaints, issues or concerns. They have rules and regulations, but do not enforce them causing many safety hazards. Unethical pricing model. Sites with no beach access, no water views and considerably smaller sites, pay just as much as the premium sites that have large area, private beachs, personal beach access and full water view. They do a terrible job of maintaining the beach. Again making people that pay premium prices deal with all the nonsense. There is a laundry list of issues here. Way to much to touch on here. Please do your research first and find out what others pay, site locations, space etc. Before you sign anything for a seasonal site. The company that manages is just greed and doesn't care after the fact.
The place sucks ever since sun retreats purchased the property. Campsites are too close together now and they no longer allow for people to pay to stay for days/weeks. You have to outright pay a lot rent of a year just to use it maybe one or twice during the summer months
Our camper is in A2 which one it rains it's nothing but a lake. All it needs is a few loads of dirt handsome grass seed to fix the problem. People that had the sight before us said they had the same problem and that's why they moved to a different site. The park is clean the service is great it's a nice park just needs a little work.
2021 was our first season at New Point and was very memorable. The management and staff were awesome. We enjoyed meeting all the campers and made some life long friends. The park is exceptionally clean, the beach is amazing and the entertainment is always a blast. Looking forward to 2022. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I came here two years ago and never left. From the very beginning the staff was welcoming and accommodating. No request for assistance was ever resisted or denied. Then there are the campers themselves. The park is about six hundred yards from end to end but you can’t traverse it in less than an hour. Every third camper or so someone stops you for conversation or to offer some of what’s on the grill or a cool beverage. The park is very clean and speed bumps keep the golf cart speeds to respectable level. Rangers patrol the park through the late evening to ensure that the is no mischief. The kids parks (2) are well maintained and there is a sense of safety for the little ones. I look forward to my third year.
