Three Pines Campground Introduce

For those seeking a more tranquil and intimate outdoor experience in the Pocono Mountains, Three Pines Campground offers a refreshing alternative to the larger, more crowded commercial resorts. Tucked away in the serene woods of Lakeville, Pennsylvania, this campground is a favorite among local residents and seasonal travelers who prioritize peace and quiet. Unlike high-traffic tourist hubs, Three Pines specializes in providing a relaxing atmosphere where the primary sounds are the rustle of the wind through the evergreens and the distant murmur of nearby water. It serves as an ideal home base for those who want to experience the majesty of the Lake Wallenpaupack region while retiring to a calm, well-managed sanctuary at the end of the day.

This campground is particularly well-suited for seasonal RV enthusiasts. The management focuses on creating a tight-knit community feel, making it a popular choice for retirees and professionals who travel for work and need a reliable, long-term summer residence. The grounds are meticulously landscaped and maintained with a level of care that reflects the owners' personal investment in the property. For Pennsylvania locals, it represents a "hidden gem" where traditional camping values—such as neighborly respect and cleanliness—are still held in high regard. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway or a place to park your rig from May through October, Three Pines provides a stable and welcoming environment.

Location and accessibility are among the top advantages of Three Pines Campground. Conveniently situated at 104 Purdytown Turnpike (Route 590) in Lakeville, the park is just five minutes away by car from the public access points of Lake Wallenpaupack. This allows guests to enjoy world-class boating, jet skiing, and swimming during the day while avoiding the noise often associated with being directly on the big lake's shoreline. The entrance and parking areas are designed to be accessible, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking lots. Navigating to the site is straightforward for those coming from major Pennsylvania hubs like Scranton or Wilkes-Barre, as it sits approximately midway between the towns of Hawley and Hamlin.

The services offered at Three Pines are specifically tailored to the needs of modern RVers. Each of the approximately 60 sites is designed to accommodate various trailer sizes, with many featuring full utility connections. The infrastructure supports a comfortable long-term stay, with amenities that bridge the gap between rustic camping and modern convenience. The park includes updated laundry facilities and clean restroom structures with hot showers, which are vital for those spending the entire season on-site. Additionally, the availability of high-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV through local providers ensures that guests can stay connected with work or family while enjoying their mountain retreat.

  • Full RV hookups including sewer, water, and 30-amp electric service.
  • Dedicated seasonal camping sites available from May 1st to October 31st.
  • On-site laundry facilities equipped with modern washers and dryers.
  • Clean and regularly maintained restroom and shower buildings.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi and cable TV access available at the individual campsites.
  • Professional on-site management ensuring a quiet and secure environment.
  • Pet-friendly policies that welcome dogs (with certain breed and leash restrictions).
  • A dedicated recreation room featuring cable TV and a space for community gatherings.
  • Individual fire rings and picnic tables provided at every site for private use.

Beyond the standard utilities, the features and highlights of Three Pines Campground emphasize the natural beauty of the Wayne County landscape. One of the unique charms of the property is the stocked Japanese koi pond, which provides a meditative spot for guests to sit and watch the colorful fish. For those who enjoy active recreation without the intensity of a major lake, the campground features a private fishing dock on the 9-acre Mocatek Lake. This smaller body of water is perfect for a quiet afternoon of fishing or simply enjoying the view of the water lilies and local wildlife. The park’s layout also includes ample walking areas, making it a dream for pet owners who enjoy morning strolls with their dogs.

  • Private fishing dock on Mocatek Lake, ideal for peaceful angling.
  • Stocked Japanese koi pond providing a unique and tranquil focal point.
  • Heavily wooded sites that offer natural shade and a sense of privacy.
  • Close proximity to Lake Wallenpaupack’s 52 miles of shoreline and boating activities.
  • Regularly mowed and landscaped common areas that enhance the park’s aesthetic.
  • A playground area designed specifically for children to play safely.
  • Quiet hours and strict management of noise levels to ensure a restful stay.

For inquiries regarding seasonal rates, site availability, or specific pet restrictions, it is best to contact the office directly. The management is known for their professional approach and is happy to assist prospective campers in finding the right spot for their specific RV setup.

I travel for work. And I'll be in the area till November, when I called to ask if they had a spot available for me. The gentleman was rather rude with me and basically told me no. Because I drive a loud diesel truck. What are you supposed to tell a camper with a scooter?
