Tree Farm Campground Introduce
For those seeking a genuine escape into the Green Mountain State’s natural beauty, Tree Farm Campground in Springfield, Vermont, offers an experience often described as "camping the way it should be." Nestled within a sprawling 140-acre white pine forest, this family-owned and disabled-owned destination provides a serene alternative to more commercialized parks. The towering pines, some reaching over 120 feet in height, create a natural cathedral-like atmosphere that keeps the grounds cool and quiet, perfect for "forest bathing" and reconnecting with the great outdoors. Whether you are a local Vermonter looking for a weekend getaway or a traveler exploring the Connecticut River Valley, Tree Farm Campground offers a rustic charm balanced with modern, thoughtful amenities.
The campground has a rich history of hospitality, having been a staple of the Springfield community for over 50 years. Current owners Liz and Ben have cultivated a reputation for being exceptionally welcoming, often greeting guests with personal touches and a level of care that reflects their deep roots in the land. The park is proudly "Open to All," serving as an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safe space where every visitor can feel secure and respected. From the meticulously maintained sites to the cozy community lodge, the entire property is designed to foster a sense of belonging and relaxation under the canopy of the Vermont forest.
Location and accessibility are key components of the Tree Farm experience. Situated at 53 Skitchewaug Trail, the campground is just minutes away from the convenience of downtown Springfield’s restaurants and shops, yet it feels entirely secluded. For those traveling by RV, the park is easily accessible via Route 11 and Route 143, and the owners provide an escort to your site upon arrival to ensure a smooth start to your stay. The facility prioritizes inclusivity with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot. Furthermore, the campground serves as a perfect "base camp" for regional exploration, located just a short drive from the mountains and directly abutting the newer Muckross State Park, with trails connecting the two properties.
Services offered at Tree Farm Campground cater to both the traditional tent camper and the modern RVer. Every single site on the property is equipped with full hookups, a rare find that combines the rustic feel of a state park with the convenience of a private facility. The services provided include:
- Full RV hookups at every site, including water, sewer, and electric (30 & 50 amp).
- Dedicated tent sites that also feature full hookup capabilities for maximum comfort.
- On-site propane supply and an RV supply store for essential gear and refills.
- Complimentary hot showers in a "rustic-themed" bathhouse known for its cleanliness.

- A fenced-in dog park with toys and benches, ensuring four-legged campers have a space to run.

Customer Reviews
We felt so welcomed at Tree Farm, even though we never saw our hosts! We arrived after dark, but all our check-in details were right where they said they would be - with a personal note! Our site was right by the rec room/bath house, a cute rustic-themed building that was open all day and night. The campgrounds were beautiful - towering pine trees - and everything was well marked and easy to find.
We had a wonderful experience at the Tree Farm Campground. The owners were very welcoming, showers were hot and the campground was overall very quiet and relaxing. There were hiking trails nearby and it is only a short drive to the mountains.
We loved Tree Farm Campground!! My wife and I may not be your typical camper. We are not looking for pools and crazy camping experiences. We seek quiet sites that offer some privacy, yet have full hook up.The staff is amazing and friendly. They are easy to communicate with and prompt. Our site (67) was large and quiet even being on one of the main loops. The large metal ring fire pit had an adjustable grill.I would recommend to any camper seeking a quiet getaway. There are a few trails/ state parks near by (even a waterfall). We took a 20-30 minute drive to Harpoon brewery for a beer and some lunch.
This has been one of our favorite campgrounds. The couple that runs it are amazing. Kind, helpful and so friendly. Fresh homemade muffins and coffee on Sunday morning was such a treat! I can't recommend thos campground enough. We will definitely be back!
This campground is a gem! Tucked away in the tall pines of eastern Vermont. The owners Elizabeth and her husband keep the grounds well maintained. All the hookups worked as they should. The best part was the spacing between campsites. My wife and I will definitely be back!
