What is worth choosing when it comes to Windsor Hills Camp and Retreat Center is the combination of seclusion and community infrastructure. In a state with many camping options, this location is worth choosing if you are organizing a multi-generational event or a structured group retreat. The "pleasant surprise" of available beach equipment and the consistently well-kept buildings make it a reliable choice for those who want the beauty of a wilderness camp without the unpredictability of a primitive site. It is particularly valued by those who want their children to experience "nonstop fun" in a safe, controlled, and beautiful environment.
Furthermore, the quietude of Windsor Hills is a rare commodity. Choosing this location means opting for a place where "quiet" isn't just a rule, but a natural result of its geography. Whether you are looking to cast a line into the lake for an afternoon of fishing or gathering a large group for a weekend of restoration, the center provides the physical and mental space necessary for a true New Hampshire retreat. While ownership and specific program offerings may evolve, the fundamental draw of the property—its pristine forest, its lakefront charm, and its commitment to providing a space for growth and connection—remains a steadfast reason for local users to keep this destination on their radar.

The house we stayed in needs a few repairs and upgrades. The amount of equipment provided down by the beach area was a pleasant surprise. We had 8 kids there and they had nonstop fun all day.
Too bad this campground has closed and is for sale. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. Quiet area off a dead end road 8 miles from nearest town. Lake side fishing.
