Cowtown Cabins Introduce

For Delaware residents seeking a departure from the typical coastal hotel stay, Cowtown Cabins in Selbyville offers an immersive glamping and farmstay experience that is unlike anything else in the First State. This charming destination, positioned just minutes away from the bustling Delaware and Maryland beaches, serves as a tranquil sanctuary where "Old West" nostalgia meets modern comfort. As a business that identifies as both women-owned and disabled-owned, Cowtown Cabins prides itself on a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere that emphasizes accessibility and genuine hospitality.

The property is more than just a place to pitch a tent or rent a room; it is a functioning ranch and animal rescue that has spent two decades fostering a deep connection between visitors and nature. From the moment you arrive, the pace of life slows down. You are greeted not by traffic, but by the sounds of farm animals and the sight of unique themed structures, including yurts, tiny homes, and "barndominiums." Whether you are a local family looking for an educational weekend for the kids or a couple seeking a quiet, peaceful getaway under the stars, this Selbyville gem provides a self-curated ranch adventure that rewards curiosity and a love for animals.

  • Location and Accessibility

Cowtown Cabins is conveniently located at 37033 Sweet Meadow Ln, Selbyville, DE 19975, USA. Situated near the border of Maryland and Delaware, it offers the perfect "best of both worlds" location: it is secluded enough to provide a quiet rural atmosphere, yet it remains only about 6 to 10 miles from the popular boardwalks and beaches of Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, and North Ocean City.

Accessibility is a priority at the ranch. The facility features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and fully accessible restroom facilities. The grounds are designed to be navigable, and the staff is committed to ensuring that all guests, regardless of mobility needs, can enjoy the farm’s offerings. Additionally, the ranch identifies as a transgender safespace and is proudly LGBTQ+ friendly, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for the diverse community of the Delaware region.

  • Services Offered

Cowtown Cabins provides a robust suite of services tailored to both overnight glampers and day visitors interested in the ranch lifestyle. The focus here is on "educational glamping," where guests are encouraged to participate in the daily life of the farm.

  • Unique themed accommodations including the "Swedish Cowboy" barndominium, tiny homes like the "Garden Hideaway," and authentic yurts.
  • Educational tour operations, including the popular "Chores N' Tour" program where guests help feed and water over 20 different farm animals.
  • Wedding venue services specifically catering to intimate, western-themed ceremonies and rustic celebrations.
  • On-site zoo-style interactions featuring a Scottish Highland bull, alpacas, miniature horses, goats, and a rescued peacock.
  • Professional "Paint N' Pet" sessions where guests can create art under a shady oak tree while surrounded by friendly critters.
  • Specialized "Horse Whispering" lessons and "Brush N' Bond" grooming sessions for those looking for a therapeutic or skill-building experience.
  • On-site amenities such as grilling areas, public restrooms, running water, and reliable Wi-Fi for remote workers or streamers.
  • Features and Highlights

The highlights of Cowtown Cabins revolve around its dual identity as a cozy campground and a bustling farmstay. Every corner of the property is curated to spark joy and provide "insta-worthy" moments for guests of all ages.

  • Old West Movie Town: The campground is expanding into a themed village, featuring mini-glamping cabins like the "Jail House" and the "Old West Bank," complete with rustic shiplap walls and nostalgic decor.
  • The Stargazer Yurt: A premium glamping option featuring a clear roof for midnight stargazing and trendy southwestern-boho interior design.
  • Interactive Animal Experiences: Meet Herbie the Highland bull, Fonzie the "kissing" alpaca, and Charlotte the Kunekune pig. Guests are often allowed to toss apples to the bull or feed the jumping goats.
  • Kid-Friendly Activities: The ranch offers a free indoor farm animal scavenger hunt and memory challenges to keep children engaged and learning.
  • Inclusive Environment: As a woman-owned and disabled-owned business, the property emphasizes a high standard of personal care and community respect.
  • Modern Conveniences: Despite the rustic theme, the "Saloon-themed" bathhouse offers hot/cold showers and flushing toilets, while all units feature climate control (heating/AC) and kitchenettes.

  • What is Worth Choosing

For those living in Delaware, Cowtown Cabins is worth choosing if you are looking for a vacation that offers more than just a place to sleep. It is the ideal choice for travelers who want to "unplug" from the digital world (though Wi-Fi is available if you need it) and reconnect with animals and local history. While many beach-area hotels are expensive and impersonal, Cowtown offers a deeply personal touch, often hosted by Shelley herself, who shares the unique story of the ranch's evolution from a horse rescue to a premier glamping destination.

It is specifically worth choosing if you have children who would benefit from a hands-on educational experience, or if you are an animal lover who enjoys being surrounded by life from the moment you wake up. The proximity to the beach—combined with the quiet, star-filled nights of Selbyville—provides a balance that few other campgrounds in the region can match. By choosing Cowtown, you are not just booking a cabin; you are supporting a local, woman-owned business and experiencing a piece of Delaware's authentic rural charm.

Shelley was a delightful host, and it was wonderful to be able to hear her story while she gave us a tour of the farm to meet all the animals! I adore her and the tiny home we stayed in. We also got to see the full moon which made the evenings so lovely! Quiet and peaceful. Also, the tiny house was decorated SO CUTE! I would absolutely go back.

Shelley is a wonderful host. She's literally the sweetest person. All the animals are friendly and well taken care of. My family and I greatly appreciate the hospitality. One thing I would like to also note, the other guests were very very friendly as well, everyone got acquainted and it was an overall great experience and atmosphere. I hope to come here again next year ❤️ Thank you again Shelley.

My stay at the Garden Hideaway Tiny House was an absolute dream! So peaceful and full of cute animals like Fonzie the alpaca and Nacho the goat! Definitely join Shelley in the morning with Chore n Tours—it was a joy interacting with all the animals and learning new things along the way. Will definitely be returning!

We absolutely loved Shelley and her farm! We did the Chores n Tour with our 3 kids. Shelley was so wonderful with the kids and she taught us so many interesting facts. The kids actually got to help feed the farm animals and pet them. She has a kissing alpaca which was super fun. Amazing time thank you so much Shelley!
