Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey Introduce

The Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey serves as a peaceful gateway to the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Known among local travelers as "The Quiet One," this campground is specifically designed for those who want to escape the hustle of more commercialized tourist hubs while remaining within a short drive of Lancaster County’s premier attractions. Perched on a ridge in New Holland, the property offers a rare panoramic 10-mile view of the rolling hills and meticulously farmed landscapes that define the region. For Pennsylvania residents looking for a weekend retreat, the atmosphere here is one of simple relaxation, where the primary soundtrack is the rhythmic clippity-clop of Amish horse-drawn buggies passing by on the local roads.

Unlike some high-energy resorts, the Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey prioritizes a "Journey" experience—meaning it is optimized for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience for travelers on the move or those seeking a serene base camp. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and terraced to ensure that most sites can take advantage of the spectacular valley vistas. It is an ideal spot for couples seeking a romantic sunset over the farmland, as well as families who prefer a more traditional, nature-focused camping environment without the noise of arcades or large swimming pools. The park is often praised for its immaculate upkeep and the friendly, accommodating nature of its staff, who ensure that every guest feels welcome in this unique corner of the state.

Located at 354 Springville Rd, New Holland, PA 17557, the campground is exceptionally easy to find for those traveling from major Pennsylvania cities like Philadelphia, Harrisburg, or Allentown. It is situated off the main highways, providing a quiet environment while maintaining quick access to Route 23 and Route 30. For local visitors, the drive through the surrounding countryside is an experience in itself, offering glimpses of traditional Amish farms, roadside stands, and local bakeries. Travelers are reminded to be courteous and share the road with the local Amish community and their horse-drawn carriages, which are a common sight near the campground entrance.

Accessibility is a standout feature of this KOA location. The facility includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom facilities, ensuring that the beauty of the Pennsylvania countryside is accessible to all. The sites themselves are mostly level and covered in clean gravel, designed to be navigated easily even by those with larger rigs. While some areas of the park are situated on inclines to maximize the valley views, the staff is well-trained to assist guests with site entry and set-up. Free on-site parking is available, and the park’s layout is clearly marked for both daytime arrivals and late-night check-ins.

The services offered at the Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey are focused on providing a high-quality, "hassle-free" stay. The facility is equipped with modern infrastructure to support everything from heavy-duty motorhomes to traditional tent campers. Whether you are staying in a deluxe lodge or your own RV, the onsite services are designed to meet the essential needs of the modern camper while maintaining a rustic charm.

  • Full RV hookups including electric (30/50 amp), water, and sewer connections for long-term comfort.
  • A variety of lodging options including Deluxe Cabins with full baths and kitchenettes, and basic Camping Cabins.
  • Onsite general store stocked with essentials, including firewood, ice, and local treats.
  • Clean, heated restroom and shower facilities that are consistently rated highly for their cleanliness.
  • NFC mobile payment options and acceptance of all major credit cards for easy transactions.
  • A well-lit after-hours check-in station for guests arriving after the main office has closed.

The features and highlights of this campground make it a favorite for repeat visitors in the Pennsylvania region. The combination of natural beauty and thoughtful amenities creates a balanced environment where guests can choose to be as active or as relaxed as they wish. The presence of specialized areas for pets and children ensures that the entire family can enjoy the outdoors together.

  • Spectacular 10-mile panoramic views of the Amish valley and surrounding farmland.
  • KampK9 dog park area, providing a fenced space for four-legged friends to run and play.
  • A well-maintained children's playground featuring slides and swings to keep younger guests entertained.
  • Giant outdoor checkerboard and other classic outdoor recreation equipment.
  • Spacious patio sites equipped with furniture, fire pits, and grills for the ultimate outdoor dining experience.
  • Level, terraced sites that accommodate big rigs up to 90 feet in length.
  • Close proximity to Beiler’s Fruit Farm and an Amish bakery just across the street for fresh morning doughnuts.

To plan your stay at this premier New Holland destination, you can contact the campground directly or use the KOA reservation system. Early booking is particularly recommended for the fall foliage season, as the valley views make this one of the most popular spots in the state during the autumn months.

What is most worth choosing about the Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey is its unique blend of "peace and proximity." It is one of the few places in Lancaster County where you can feel completely removed from the tourist traffic of Route 30 while still being only 20 minutes away from major sites like Sight & Sound Theatres, the Strasburg Rail Road, and Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Choosing this campground means choosing a view that is truly unmatched in the area; sitting on your site’s patio and watching the fog lift off the Amish fields in the morning is an experience that justifies the stay on its own.

Furthermore, the park’s commitment to being "The Quiet One" makes it a top choice for those who find larger resort-style campgrounds too overwhelming. The absence of a pool or loud arcade means the environment remains focused on the traditional joys of camping: campfires, stargazing, and conversation. With its level sites, clean facilities, and the convenience of being open through late November, it offers a reliable and high-quality experience for Pennsylvania campers who value tranquility and scenic beauty above all else. Whether you are a first-time RV owner or a seasoned traveler, the Lancaster / New Holland KOA Journey provides a factual, well-maintained, and genuinely friendly home base for your next adventure.

The sites were level and the views were great. Showers very clean and two dog parks which were uphill or downhill and the one that was uphill was not hard to get to. The one downhill was a good walk but a little steep for feeble legs. Some sites were uphill to pull into but not difficult. Love the area that this campground is located in. Be courteous with the Amish and their carts when driving through the area. This campground could be a five star but I have a hard time giving five stars to anything.

What a great place! Clean, well maintained, nice people, excellent and fun views. We had a wonderful time! 2 things that could be improved, but WON'T affect my 5 star review.1. The wifi was pretty bad. In and out, but out more than in! It was very windy, not sure if that makes a difference. Since they do not have cable, upgrading the wifi would be really good.2. The dog "park" was quite small, but is in a pretty large, grassy area. Seems like increasing the size of it would be a pretty easy fix.Again, a really nice campground, highly recommend, and we plan to come back again too

Stayed here for a quick little birthday getaway with the family (site Q). Campground was very well kept and located near everything we needed - shady maple, cherry crest and green dragon. The overlook views were amazing, and Susan at the front desk was the best!! The only thing I think they could add to improve is a pool, but I also get the upkeep pools require as well so I won’t hold that against them. Highly recommend if you are looking for a clean, peaceful campground in the Lancaster area. We will be visiting again next fall for sure!

I have to say, this campground was pristine - the grounds are meticulously kept, the bathrooms were spotless, and the hilltop views overlooking the Amish countryside are captivating. I stayed in a patio area w/full hookups and the flowers, lighting, and patio furniture were thoughtfully placed creating a welcoming atmosphere. It was quiet, safe, and all the spots seemed pretty spacious. If you’ve never been to this part of PA I highly recommend it for serene views and an educational experience learning about the Amish culture. Take a tour of their farms or ride a buggy! A city girl like me really loved the experience. Awesome 1pm checkout time was appreciated!!! (Tip for WiFi: I did use my signal booster. I was staying towards the back of the campground and seemed to need it so I could work.)

This is one of the best KOA's I've been to. The campground is in a great location and the views from the hilltop are pretty. The cleanliness of the whole campground, including the bathhouse, is second to none. And the staff (Faith) are friendly.
