Mountain Creek Campground Introduce
Mountain Creek Campground is a premier outdoor destination located in the heart of Pennsylvania’s scenic South Mountain region. Situated in Gardners, this expansive 100-acre facility provides a picturesque setting where nearly 300 sites are nestled among towering hardwoods and along the gentle banks of Mountain Creek. For decades, the campground has served as a beloved retreat for Pennsylvania residents looking to escape the hustle of daily life in favor of the rustling leaves and bubbling waters of the Cumberland Valley. Whether you are an experienced RVer with a large rig or a traditionalist looking for a shaded tent spot, Mountain Creek offers a versatile and welcoming environment for all types of campers.
The atmosphere at Mountain Creek is distinctly family-oriented, characterized by a vibrant community feel where neighbors often become lifelong friends. From the friendly greetings at the camp store to the laughter echoing from the playground, the campground prides itself on a "home away from home" experience. Managed with a focus on cleanliness and safety, the facility is designed to cater to multiple generations, ensuring that both children and adults find the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. As a hub for local tourism, it provides a quiet sanctuary that remains conveniently close to the historic landmarks and cultural attractions of Central Pennsylvania.
Location and accessibility are major advantages for visitors choosing Mountain Creek Campground. Located at 349 Pine Grove Rd in Gardners, the property is easily reached from major travel routes including I-81 and Route 15. Its central location makes it a strategic basecamp for exploring historic Gettysburg (just 20 minutes away), the Carlisle Fairgrounds, and the sweet attractions of Hershey. For those with mobility considerations, the campground features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, parking lots, and restrooms, alongside accessible seating in common areas. The terrain is notably flat in many areas, facilitating easy movement for golf carts, bicycles, and those on foot, though some more secluded tent sites offer a more rugged, hillside experience for those seeking deep-woods privacy.
Services at Mountain Creek are comprehensive, ensuring that every guest has the support and amenities needed for a seamless stay. The on-site management and maintenance teams, highly regarded by long-term patrons, are dedicated to resolving issues quickly and keeping the grounds pristine. The following services are provided to enhance the camping experience:

What is worth choosing when it comes to Mountain Creek Campground? For RV owners, the "creek-side" sites are a standout choice, offering the unique experience of falling asleep to the sound of moving water while having full utility hookups at your fingertips. If you are a family without your own equipment, choosing one of their deluxe cabin rentals is highly worth it, as it allows you to enjoy the full "camping life" with the added comforts of a solid roof and climate control. These accommodations are known for being clean and well-maintained, providing a perfect entry point for new campers.
Furthermore, the campground is worth choosing for its exceptional community spirit. Unlike more corporate parks, Mountain Creek treats its guests like family—a sentiment echoed in numerous reviews from patrons who return year after year. The staff's willingness to go above and beyond, such as accommodating families during equipment mishaps, creates a level of trust that is rare in the industry. Whether you are looking to hike the nearby Michaux State Forest, attend a car show in Carlisle, or simply spend a Saturday afternoon tubing down the creek, Mountain Creek Campground provides the perfect infrastructure and atmosphere to make lasting memories. It is a true Pennsylvania gem that offers a high-value, high-engagement outdoor experience for everyone.

Mountain Creek Campground is absolutely outstanding. Our family has used Mountain Creek Campground for the last hand full of years and they never seem to disappoint. Our recent last two stays have had some mishaps, and Mountain Creek did not fail to accommodate my wife and children so that our rented weekend would not be totally destroyed. From the top-notch maintenance crew beginning with Dan all the way down to front counter and top-notch management who did everything they could while we waited for maintenance to assist with our issue. We have now purchased our own family camper and will continue to use Mountain Creek from all the years to come. You guys rock and thank you Mountain creek for an awesome staff and family campground. Highly Recommend to all who want to have a great time this is the place to go!!!!!!!!!!
We love Mountain Creek Campground. We’ve rented a cabin as well as camped on RV sites and enjoyed our trips so much over the years. We’ve found the accommodations to be clean and staff very responsive. They’re also very friendly and fair. They treat us like family. We’ve made many happy memories and met new camper friends by participating in the fun campground activities and spending time on the beautiful grounds.
Not worth the drive. Staff is INCREDIBLY RUDE! Our family has came here so many times i couldn't keep count and the new ownership is horrible!- This camp ground has gone downhill. -The big gate guard needs to be fired. He must have been having a horrible day. Save your money and go somewhere else.
First time here July 17th - 20th but it certainly won't be the last. Sites are all wonderful, the amenities are second to none and reasonably priced. I absolutely loved the general store on site that has great ice cream and pretty much everything you need and then some. The pool is gorgeous and they will even bring firewood or pump out your tanks without having to go to the dump station. Looking forward to another stay soon
I booked the deluxe cabin for a vacation for my family for Sunday-Tuesday. We checked in at 3pm Sunday, walked into our cabin to see there were no sheets or pillows on the beds and immediately drove back home to grab them. Luckily we only live 40 minutes from the campground but still very inconvenient. When we got back to the cabin to unpack our stuff we noticed it was filthy and had not been cleaned (which made us more irritated than it usually would because I called Sunday morning asking to check in early and was told no they needed time to clean). The floors and tables were sticky and belongings from previous people were under the table and dresser. By the time we got back the office was closed or we would have complained and requested a refund then. The kids were tired so we all went to bed. We were packed up and in the car to go home by 7:30 am Monday because we weren’t dealing with the dirty cabin for the rest of our stay. My husband drove back to the campground a few hours later when the office opened to show pictures of everything and ask for a refund. (At this point it had been a total of 4 hours driving to and from this place) The older lady who runs the place gave him an attitude saying he should’ve said something sooner (even tho the office was closed when we noticed the filth). The younger lady was kind and offered to refund us the night we didn’t stay there.
