Pocono Point RV & Campground Introduce

For Pennsylvania residents and travelers seeking a home base in the heart of the Poconos, Pocono Point RV & Campground offers a versatile outdoor experience in Lehighton. This facility serves as a multi-purpose destination, operating as an RV park, campground, and cabin rental agency. It is designed to cater to a wide demographic, from seasonal campers looking for a long-term community to weekend warriors exploring the rugged beauty of Carbon County. Positioned near the Lehigh Gap, the park provides a rustic atmosphere that captures the essence of the Pennsylvania mountains while offering modern conveniences that make extended stays comfortable.

The campground is recognized for its commitment to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment. As an LGBTQ+ friendly and transgender safespace, it fosters a community of respect and diversity. This ethos is reflected in the management style, with guests often noting the helpfulness of the on-site staff. Whether you are arriving with a high-end motorhome or looking for a quiet cabin retreat, the park aims to provide a secure and friendly atmosphere. Its location allows for a "get away from it all" feeling, even though it remains conveniently close to major local attractions and essential services in the Lehighton and Jim Thorpe areas.

Strategically located at 1500 Rock St, Lehighton, PA 18235, Pocono Point RV & Campground is easily accessible for travelers coming from various parts of Pennsylvania and neighboring states. It is situated near the PA Turnpike (I-476) Northeast Extension, making it a convenient stop for those navigating the corridor between Allentown and Scranton. The park is nestled on a ridge that offers glimpses of the surrounding Lehigh Valley landscape. While its proximity to local highways ensures easy transit, visitors should be aware that the natural topography of the region means some ambient traffic noise is part of the experience.

The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring that all guests can navigate the grounds with ease. Features include a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a dedicated parking lot with accessible spaces, and restroom facilities designed to meet accessibility standards. The park management prioritizes a smooth arrival process, offering on-site parking and accepting a wide range of payment methods, including major credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments for modern convenience.

  • Full-service RV camping with both back-in and pull-thru site options for easy setup.
  • Dedicated RV electric hookups supporting 30-amp and 50-amp power requirements.

  • Cabin rentals for visitors who prefer a "home away from home" experience without an RV.
  • On-site services and a general store where campers can stock up on essentials like firewood and ice.
  • Modern bathhouse facilities and clean, accessible restrooms located centrally within the park.
  • On-site laundry facilities to accommodate guests staying for longer durations.

The highlights of Pocono Point RV & Campground center on its proximity to the vast recreational opportunities of the Pocono Mountains. For those who enjoy the water, the park is a short distance from the Lehigh River, famous for whitewater rafting and canoeing. The grounds themselves are designed to be family-oriented, featuring a playground for children and a dog-friendly policy that includes a dedicated space for pets to exercise. The mix of wooded tent sites and open RV pads allows for a variety of camping styles under the starry Pennsylvania sky.

  • Proximity to the historic town of Jim Thorpe, offering scenic train rides, museums, and local boutiques.
  • Access to nearby hiking trails, including the world-famous Appalachian Trail and the Lehigh Gap Nature Center.
  • An on-site playground area where children can engage in supervised outdoor play.
  • Dog-friendly environment where leashed pets are welcome to join their owners at their campsites.
  • A salt-water swimming pool (seasonal) providing a refreshing retreat during the humid summer months.
  • Centrally located near Penn's Peak and the Lehigh Wine Trail for adult-oriented entertainment and local flavors.
  • Stunning vistas overlooking the Delaware Water Gap and the rolling hills of Carbon County.

What makes Pocono Point worth choosing is its role as a versatile basecamp for the modern traveler. For local Pennsylvanians, it represents an affordable way to enjoy the Poconos without the high costs associated with major resorts. The park’s inclusion of both primitive tent sites and full-hookup RV pads means that it can accommodate a wide spectrum of outdoor enthusiasts. The accommodating staff, particularly noted in guest reviews, adds a personal touch that enhances the overall stay, making guests feel like part of a community rather than just another number on a site map.

Furthermore, the park's central location is a significant draw. Being within a half-hour drive of attractions like Beltzville State Park and the Pocono Raceway allows visitors to customize their vacation—switching between high-energy activities and quiet moments in nature. While the park does host a number of seasonal residents, which creates a stable and lived-in feel, there is plenty of room for transient travelers to enjoy the unique views and local hospitality. Choosing Pocono Point means choosing a location that values diversity, accessibility, and the timeless appeal of the Pennsylvania outdoors.

We had a great first visit at the camp ground with our travel trailer. Centrally located to the various sights we wanted to see in the area. The manager Cheyenne was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Would definitely return.

Unfortunately it wasn’t what we expected. It felt like a trailer park. I’d say easily 80% of the RV’s there, we’re stationed there permanently. There was absolutely nothing to do. Noise can be heard from passing traffic from the nearby highway. Sewer could be smelled depending on where you walked. Perhaps it is our fault for not doing enough research, but we did a 10 hr round trip for this. We only stayed one out of the three nights we booked.

As soon as we stepped into the cabin we saw bed bug traps all around the bed. We called to ask what is going and they said there are no bed bugs and that it’s just there for precaution. Foolishly believing the host we stayed. The next morning I woke up to small red bumps on my skin. Still I wanted to believe the hosts and not assume it was not a bed bug bite. Early in the morning my partner and I saw a small bug crawling on a kitchen cabinet where we scanned it with a bug identification app and was told it’s a bed bug.We immediately contacted Airbnb support and the hosts. We told the hosts what happened and they denied the proof of my bite marks being from bed bugs and the picture we showed them. They said the picture we showed them was not from their cabin and not true. According to them bed bugs are only on beds and not on wood. You would thinking running a park you would be educated enough to know bed bugs do not just reside on beds. We went back to the cabin to check out and throw our items into bags to not get them in our home. Guess what we found while getting our stuff bagged… a bed bug on the bed. We took a video of that with the room so they cannot deny anything now.Do not stay here unless you like being gaslight and getting bed bugs.

Lowest prices around for RVs and tent camping, and is centrally located in Lehighton, close to all kinds of outdoor activities, restaurants, and shopping. I got a senior and cash/check discount, too. Tara, the general manager, is very accommodating, and you can even call herafter hours, if needed. She and her husband, George, both maintain the park. They have a fully stocked camping store, a game room including a pool table, laundry facilities, showers, restroom, and a swimming pool. There's even a stream on their property that is stocked with trout in early spring.

Easy in and out..and back on I476. Price is OK..noise from the Turnpike is noticeable. But a good stop for a Jim Thorpe visit.
