Round Top Campground Introduce

Round Top Campground is a spacious, family-oriented vacation destination located in the heart of historic Adams County, Pennsylvania. Spanning approximately 52 acres of scenic hills and lush forest, this campground offers a classic Pennsylvania woods experience for those looking to explore the rich heritage of the Gettysburg region. As a destination resort, Round Top is designed to provide both a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and a hub of activity for families. The property is characterized by its rolling terrain, which provides a sense of seclusion and a "woodland feel" that sets it apart from more flat, open-field RV parks.

For decades, Round Top Campground has served as a seasonal and overnight home base for visitors drawn to the legendary battlefields and museums of Gettysburg. The park caters to a wide variety of campers, from those traveling in heavy-duty RVs to those seeking a more rustic experience in tents or rental cottages. Its atmosphere is a blend of traditional camping charm and resort-style convenience, making it a popular choice for local residents of the Keystone State who want to reconnect with history while enjoying modern recreational facilities. Whether you are looking for a weekend stay or an entire season in the shade of the tall oaks, the campground provides a comprehensive outdoor living environment.

Conveniently located at 180 Knight Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, Round Top Campground is situated just off the Route 134 exit of Route 15. This strategic location makes it easily accessible for travelers coming from Harrisburg, York, or the Maryland border, yet it remains far enough from the freeway to maintain a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The center of downtown Gettysburg and the primary entrances to the Gettysburg National Military Park are only about three miles away, allowing residents to spend their days touring monuments and museums and their evenings relaxing by a campfire.

Accessibility within the park is tailored to accommodate all guests, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance, dedicated parking, and accessible restroom and shower facilities. The terrain is notably hilly, which offers beautiful views but may require experienced driving for those backing large rigs into certain sites. Most of the primary internal roads are paved or consist of well-packed gravel, providing reliable passage for vehicles and golf carts, which are permitted for use throughout the grounds. The proximity to local hubs ensures that grocery stores, antique shops, and local restaurants are just a short drive from the Knight Road entrance.

Round Top Campground is worth choosing for its unbeatable location and its focus on family-centric recreation. For Pennsylvania residents who want to dive deep into Civil War history without sacrificing the "resort" feel, this park bridges the gap perfectly. The Olympic-sized pool is a significant highlight, providing a refreshing escape during the humid Pennsylvania summers. Additionally, for those who participate in the Passport America program, Round Top offers great value, making it an affordable choice for travelers who want to extend their stay in Adams County.

Furthermore, the variety of lodging makes it an ideal choice for groups who may not all own RVs. Friends and family can stay in the premium cottages nearby while others utilize the wooded tent and RV sites, allowing everyone to gather at the central pavilion or the mini-golf course. If you value a shaded, wooded environment where the kids have plenty to do right on the property, Round Top Campground provides a classic Gettysburg experience. It remains a staple of the local community, offering a gateway to the sights of the National Military Park while maintaining the rugged, natural beauty that the Pennsylvania ridges are known for.

Good location near freeway but far enough to be fairly quiet and yet within close distance to town. Site was surprisingly level given the hilly terrain. I appreciate them being part of Passport America. I happened to be in a site with a holding tank rather than a sewer. It did the trick, but let's just say I'm not a fan. 30 amp post tripped after about 25 amps so I had to treat it as a 20 amp site and could only run one appliance. No free wifi option at site--paid wifi only. I had a peaceful stay but would probably choose a different site with sewer and 50 amps next time.

My wife and I, along with some friends, decided on a last-minute two-day camping trip and found two available sites at Round Top Campground. Having never stayed here before, we figured we’d give it a shot. Big mistake. Most, if not all, of the sites are on a hill — making setup tricky, especially if you’re not experienced backing into uneven terrain. Our site’s water pump/handle was broken, and we had to call for maintenance. Thankfully, someone came about 30 minutes later to fix it, but it set the tone for the stay. The entire campground feels severely neglected. Nearly all sites sit under old, rotting trees, which makes it feel unsafe — I was genuinely concerned about branches falling on our rig. On top of that, the sites are far from level, so getting your camper or RV properly stabilized is a real challenge. We’ve been camping for several years and traveled up and down the East Coast, and this is by far our least favorite campground. Even one of the maintenance workers admitted the place hasn’t been cared for in years. We definitely won’t be coming back.

The location of Round Top Campground is easy to reach off Hwy 15 and it is a large campground. We requested a pull through when we made reservations but we were not told we would be right next to Hwy15 with LOUD noise the entire time of our stay! It was horrible. When we were checking in the lady even stated “you have one of our nicest sites.” Oh my gosh, I cant imagine what the other sites must be like.Definitely not worth the $80+ a night!!No WiFi either unless you pay extra. As you can see in the map picture how close our site is to the Highway.

Our 4 night stay was adequate but also disappointing. The staff was very friendly, inviting and helpful. The park is large, crowded and very active providing little space with no privacy. Our first site was somewhat of a flag lot that looked like an afterthought to pack more people in. The electricity did not work so we had to move and rehook-up to a different site close to the first. We found the pool, which was far away and uphill, inconvenient to use. Fortunately, we spent our time immersing in the Gettysburg battlefields so it was acceptable for sleeping and feeling safe.

We came into our reservation with friends after making the reservations 6 months ago. When we arrived we found out that they put us blocks apart from each other. We asked to get spots together and were told that they were full through the weekend. We stayed there Tuesday- Thursday not on the weekend. Our friends spot was horrific. No table, no fire pit, on a hill and the electric box and water looked shady. Not safe. The spot number was not visible so they drove circles trying to find this terrible spot. After annoying the office lady because they asked for a new spot, they were moved to s little better spot by us. Our spot was down a hill and not easy to unhook or hook our 5th wheel. There was a bathroom by us and the doors were locked. Unable to use! We walked around the park and found 30 plus spots that were sitting open. These were much better spots and yet they put us on the worst spots in the campground! We do not recommend this place as they do not care about people that pay $86 a night to stay there. We have been traveling for 3 weeks across the states and this is the first time we had a terrible experience. There is nothing positive to say about Roundtop Campground!
