Thousand Trails Williamsburg Introduce
Thousand Trails Williamsburg, located in the heart of Virginia’s Historic Triangle, serves as a premier destination for RV enthusiasts and families seeking a blend of outdoor adventure and educational exploration. This resort-style campground is situated in Norge, Virginia, providing a serene, wooded environment that feels worlds away from the daily grind while remaining just minutes from the nation's most significant historical landmarks. As part of the renowned Thousand Trails network, the park caters to both long-term members and seasonal travelers, offering a community-focused atmosphere where relaxation meets recreation.
The campground is characterized by its rolling terrain and mature hardwood forests, typical of the Virginia coastal plain. It is designed to be a "home base" for those visiting the local area, which includes Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. For Virginia residents, it offers a perfect weekend getaway or an extended summer retreat, providing a safe and engaging environment for children and a peaceful sanctuary for adults. Whether you are arriving with a massive luxury motorhome or a compact travel trailer, Thousand Trails Williamsburg welcomes you to experience the natural beauty and hospitality of the Old Dominion.
Location and Accessibility are perhaps the strongest selling points for this particular campground. Conveniently located at 4301 Rochambeau Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188, the park is easily reached via Interstate 64. For those traveling from Richmond, it is a straightforward 45-minute drive east, while those coming from the Virginia Beach area can expect to arrive in about an hour. Its position just off the highway ensures that you spend less time navigating tight local roads and more time enjoying your campsite.
Accessibility is a priority at Thousand Trails Williamsburg. The park features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a dedicated wheelchair-accessible parking lot to accommodate all guests. Furthermore, the public facilities, including the restrooms and the community centers, are designed with accessibility in mind. Inside the park, the roads are primarily gravel and are wide enough to accommodate "big rigs," though the natural topography of the area means that some sites require extra attention during the leveling process. Once settled, residents find themselves perfectly positioned to reach Busch Gardens and Water Country USA in under twenty minutes, or the upscale shopping at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets in even less time.
Services Offered at Thousand Trails Williamsburg are comprehensive, designed to ensure that every camper has a comfortable and convenient stay. The management emphasizes "onsite services," meaning you rarely have to leave the grounds for your basic needs. The facility is staffed by friendly professionals who are known for their helpfulness and local knowledge.

What is worth choosing when it comes to Thousand Trails Williamsburg is the unparalleled value for families and history enthusiasts. In an area where hotel prices can skyrocket during the peak season, this RV park offers a budget-friendly alternative that doesn't skimp on amenities. For those who are already Thousand Trails members, the cost-to-value ratio is exceptional, providing a "home away from home" in one of the most historically rich regions of the United States. The park is worth choosing because it places you in the center of the action—allowing you to visit the Jamestown Settlement in the morning and be back in your own lawn chair by lunchtime.
Additionally, the park is worth choosing for its community spirit. The staff's reputation for being "the best you could ask for" goes a long way in creating a welcoming environment, even when the natural terrain presents challenges like unlevel sites. For local Virginians, it represents a stable, reliable place to reconnect with nature and family. Whether you are here for the kid-friendly hikes, the proximity to Busch Gardens, or the quietude of a wooded campsite in autumn, Thousand Trails Williamsburg remains a staple of the Virginia camping scene. It is a place where memories are made over campfires and where the history of America is quite literally just down the road.
Would you like me to find out the current nightly rates for the 2026 season or look for a map of the most level sites in the park?

We have been twice now, both times were equally as bad as the other.....AWFUL. Luckily they have some of the best staff you could ever ask for, just a shame they work for such an awful campground. First, the sites are small and very, very, very unlevel. Both times they have had to move us. I brought 24 leveling blocks and had my camper on one side almost 2 ft off the ground and was still no where near level. They know the sites are like this and has not been fixed. I know they wont be perfectly level, but its just ridiculous how unlevel they are. Secondly, the "ammenities" they offer. Half of them dont work or are "out of order". The arcade is a joke, well over half of them dont work or are out of prizes for the kids to win, the ping pong table is about to snap in half and cost 50 cents to play a game from the 90's. The basketball hoop is completley broken and being help up with a rusted chain, the mini put put is decading terribly. The first time we stayed here the pool was out of order, this time the hot tub was our of order. the bike trail was closed off. This place single handhandidly made us want to cancel our thousand trails membership. It seems if your not a memeber you get the better spots then if you are a member. Would never recommend this place to anyone to be fair. Luckily the staff are very helpful. The popcorn was probably the best part, which is very sad.
My wife and I stayed here 11/9-11/15 and we enjoyed our stay. The service was very good. Our site was ok and the location is fantastic. Being Fall there were leaves everywhere so I'd really like to stay here in the Spring or Summer to see what it's like. Definitely would return.
We have been here the whole season and it was the absolute best.. the staff are amazing and treat you like family.. truly! Fun, SAFE , clean campground with trails , and lots to do at the club house . I can't express enough how much of a family feeling you get here!
Lots of trees! We have a large rig with two vehicles and were given a site that could not fit both of our vehicles due to the trees. The neighbors sewage line was also too close for comfort. There were larger sites around and feel like they should prioritize them for the larger rigs with two vehicles. The roads are also narrow which makes it tricky as it is. The location of this park was great, we felt like we were 15 minutes from everything. The outdoor pool was nice, there was an arcade game room and the activities over the weekend were fun, we enjoyed candy bar bingo. The building is old, indoor pool area is very hot, old smelling and some of the grounds appear rundown. The pickleball/basketball court needs updating. There is no dog park here, yet there is a large open area near the front of the park.
Not thier fault but way too much noise from I-64If I had known that all we would be doing is listening to is traffic all day and night I would never have booked this campgroundNo peace or relaxation just sitting here listening to Semis and traffic go byCampground is beautiful and staff was great if you don't mind constant noise
