Western Village RV Park Introduce
For those navigating the scenic corridors of South Central Pennsylvania, Western Village RV Park stands as a well-established destination for both weary travelers and adventure-seeking families. Located in the heart of the Cumberland Valley, this park offers a clean, quiet, and family-oriented environment that has served as a reliable home base for generations of campers. Spread across a beautifully wooded landscape in Carlisle, the park manages to balance a peaceful, "away from it all" atmosphere with the convenience of being just minutes away from modern amenities and historic landmarks. Whether you are stopping for a quick overnight stay along the interstate or planning a week-long exploration of the region’s rich heritage, Western Village provides a versatile setting tailored to the needs of the modern RVer.
The park is recognized for its commitment to providing a comprehensive camping experience that goes beyond a simple parking pad. With 235 sites available, the grounds are designed to accommodate a wide variety of setups, from large big-rigs requiring pull-through access to cozy cabins and traditional tent sites. The property is characterized by its abundance of mature trees, providing refreshing shade during the warm Pennsylvania summers. It is a place where community spirit is encouraged through planned weekend activities, live entertainment, and shared recreational spaces, making it a vibrant hub for local residents and visitors alike who value the classic American camping tradition.
Location and accessibility are among the most significant advantages for guests staying at Western Village RV Park. Situated at 200 Greenview Dr, Carlisle, PA 17015, the park is exceptionally easy to find, located just 2 miles off Exit 45 of Interstate 81 and approximately 8 miles from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76). This strategic positioning makes it a premier "stop-off" point for travelers moving between New England and the southern states. Despite its proximity to major transportation arteries, the park is nestled within a quiet residential neighborhood, ensuring that the sounds of the highway are replaced by the rustle of leaves and the quiet chatter of fellow campers.
Beyond the gates, the surrounding Carlisle area offers an array of attractions that are easily accessible to guests. The park is a mere 3.5 miles from the world-famous Carlisle Fairgrounds, home to some of the largest automotive events and car shows in the country. Additionally, its central location puts you within an hour's drive of iconic Pennsylvania destinations such as Gettysburg, Hershey, Harrisburg, and the Amish country of Lancaster. For those who prefer local flavor, the historic downtown of Carlisle provides unique shopping, dining, and cultural experiences, while nearby natural wonders like the Yellow Breeches Creek offer world-class fly fishing opportunities just a short drive away.

What is worth choosing about Western Village RV Park is the seamless blend of accessibility and a high-quality, activity-rich environment. For many Pennsylvania residents and travelers, it is the "predictability" of the experience that makes it a top choice—the grounds are consistently clean, the facilities are well-maintained, and the location is virtually unbeatable for anyone visiting the Cumberland Valley. It is worth choosing because it serves as more than just a place to park; it is a destination where children can run safely, adults can relax under a canopy of mature trees, and everyone can enjoy a sense of community that is often missing from more commercialized roadside stops.
Furthermore, the park’s commitment to staying open year-round provides a valuable resource for winter travelers and those needing a reliable spot during the off-season. While some sites may be more compact than others, the sheer variety of amenities—from the saltwater pool to the mini-golf course—ensures that there is always something to do without ever leaving the property. If you value a campground that is close to the action of Carlisle's car shows yet quiet enough for a peaceful night's sleep, Western Village RV Park is a premier choice in the region. Would you like me to look into the specific schedule for the upcoming car shows or live music events at the park for your planned visit dates?

12/26/2025, The staff was not real friendly when checking in. I guess it's been a long season. There was a snow storm arriving the evening and it was supposed to snow 4 to 5" that night. So I asked for an update. I figured the "locals" would know. But she just shrugged here shoulders and said something like we hope it doesn't snow. Our pull-thru site (#33) was fairly level, hook-ups were fine, except that the Power pole was place at the front of the site and made it awkward to reach it. I didn't want to unhook my truck, so I ended up a little bit in the road. Overall, it seems like a nice campground. Lots of trees for shade. Gavel roads and campsite could get muddy though. Their website says they are open all year, but their Voice Message says that they close on January 1st and re-open in March. T-Mobile data was 5G, but only 1 or 2 lines. However, I was able to stream two TV's. There's a fee-based Wi-Fi service through Skyweb, which we didn't try. It's a convenient place to stop off I-81. And it's in a residential neighborhood. I would stop for the night again in the future. For 50Amp FHU it was $68.00 less a AARP discount which came to $64.20 for one night.
This Campground is in a good location near a lot of attractions. The individual sites are much too narrow, our neighbors literally had to move their table for us to get into our site. The staff had lots of plans for the weekend, tons of stuff to do and planned appropriately for the season. It'd be nice if someone rethought the spacing of the sites, I'm pretty sure most airlines have more legroom.
Bathrooms were clean. They have a laundry facility on site. The "cabins" were larger than expected, but were basically sheds with beds and there were a few issues with getting some of the heaters to work in a couple of them, which the staff took care of promptly. Bring a space heater and you're fine if you're always cold like me 🙂 It's located in a full-on neighborhood, not in the middle of nowhere, so you have access to everything and anything you could need, and none of it is too far away (think less than 10 mi from major shopping centers). I really enjoyed the stay here!!
Awesome campground. This place is huge and well established. If you are looking for a quiet place with few neighbors, you should probably go elsewhere because this RV park is full of life even into November. Western village is a gem for kids with endless attractions and activities. We passed through on Halloween weekend and were surprised to hear chainsaws and screaming, and it turns out they set up a little haunted house of sorts which is so awesome (if you're not easily scared lol!) There was music and laughter and screams and it was not a quiet Halloween weekend at all, but at 10pm it was magically silent and we had a great night sleep. Their overnight sites are very close together but also pretty spacious and easy in and out even for large rigs. In some overnight spots, your door faces your neighbors door, which seems unique to this campground, and can be useful if you are RVing with friends. The only suggestion I could give this place is to add one way signs on their fairly narrow roads, as another (kind of rude) RVer held us up while we were trying to leave, by exiting the other way. Otherwise we're impressed by the park and would come back again next time we pass through the area.
Had to make and emergency landing in Carlisle due to a broken axle. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. Helped me locate a repair service that replaced my axle on site, Mike's Mobile RV, the best! The facilities were excellent and peaceful. Ill arrange my travel schedule to spend an evening here every year.
